Pastor Trudy's Message

God shows no partiality! This statement encourages us, but is also a little baffling. I struggle to imagine what it would truly be like to show no partiality.  But then I remind myself that the disciples have seen the most tragic death...Jesus on the cross. Having spent a good deal of time over the past few weeks with families experiencing the death of loved ones, I can feel in my bones the hope that comes with a God who holds us tenderly- without partiality- in the promises and love of our baptisms.

Good and gracious God, in the midst of the grief, the loss, the pain, You are there giving hope. Loving us. We can see it clearly in the time of death. Help us to see it in our daily lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

GLC has been abundantly gifted with an incredible staff.  We have two significant changes to share with you.

First, Margo Burkhardt, our Communications Coordinator, has left. Margo helped GLC to communicate effectively throughout the pandemic by moving us to Constant Contact, upgrading our website, and making our social media more intentional. We are so grateful for her work and equally grateful that Faith Sax (our current AV Coordinator) will step in as the Interim Communications Coordinator.  

Second, Julie Slifka, our Coordinator of Congregational Ministries will be wrapping up her primary role at the end of April before taking a leave in May. She will be back to support significant events in the summer before completing her long tenure at GLC in August. Other staff are currently training for some parts of Julie's work.

The council is creating a task force to work with Pastor Trudy and staff to look at all staff responsibilities and our future ministry needs to create a plan for continued development.

5TH GRADE FAMILY MEETING
