PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
Join us for Kids Exploring FUN!
Join us for our Kids Exploring Fun Activity Group on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 9-10 a.m. ET. This group is open to children with autism who are in preschool or elementary school (ages 3-12), and we meet on every other Saturday – the second Saturday of the month is our activity group, and the fourth Saturday of the month is our social group.

In our activity group, our kids have time to do crafts, play games, and engage in activities with children who have similar interests! We usually have a partner organization, like Big Blue Canopy, ABC Pediatric Therapy, or Ensemble Theatre, to bring in a specific activity. For the month of July, facilitator Chloe will join us to tell silly stories to explore the art of theatrical storytelling, games, social skills activities, and lots of FUN!

Our social group focuses on socialization and confidence-building for our kids, helping them to make friends and interact with each other in a social setting. Our July social group for Kids Exploring Fun takes place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 9-10 a.m.

To keep up with the latest program updates and topics, make sure to register for this weekend’s program by clicking the button below, and we will keep you in the loop about upcoming program meetings! Remember that you must register for both sessions individually, so be on the lookout on our website and social media for the second July session’s registration link!
COMMUNITY CORNER
Survey for Fathers by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Regional Autism Advisory Council
Father’s Day may have been last weekend, but we all know fathers who deserve to be recognized on a regular basis! Calling all fathers of children with developmental disabilities!

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, with partners throughout Ohio, is working towards a vision of collaboration among state agencies, communities, and networks of support where fathers of people with developmental disabilities are valued, engaged, and empowered. To best move forward, we want to know:

  • What is a father's current perspective?
  • What are fathers' experiences in systems that support their child with developmental disabilities?
  • What do they want? What do they need?
  • How do 'systems' and organizations best support fathers of children with developmental disabilities?

Who better to answer these questions than fathers themselves! If you are an Ohio father with a child with developmental disabilities, of any age, consider participating in a brief (5-10 minute) survey, and joining in for one of two virtual Fathers’ Forums. We are eager to hear from you!!

Survey: Simple, 18 question survey that shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes. Participating fathers will have an opportunity to win one of two $50 gift cards. The survey, which will be open until July 10, 2022, can be found at the Survey for Fathers link.

Father’s Forum: An opportunity for fathers to chat via Zoom with other Ohio fathers to share their experiences as a father, and share what supports and resources they want and need. Afternoon and evening sessions are available:
