Forum: The Election of 1876
Sun., 11/8, 11:15 am, Church & Livestreamed
As we at Trinity celebrate the 150th anniversary of our iconic buildings, we look back to the moment in American history that anticipated our church’s consecration. On the Sunday after our nation’s midterm elections, join in as we learn about the contested presidential election of 150 years ago. Only eleven years after Appomattox, the United States stood at the brink of another Civil War— this time, as the result of the bitterly contested election. How could the mess ever be straightened out?
In this Forum, guest speaker Dr. Daniel Breen will delve into the tumultuous Campaign of 1876, and into the still-controversial settlement that made Rutherford B. Hayes the nineteenth President of the United States.

"In what ways have you felt yourself receiving generously from Trinity Church?"
Last Sunday, parishioner and stewardship committee member Paula Narain delivered a powerful and inspiring testimonial about her journey at Trinity Church, from weddings to baptisms, worship to leadership, pilgrimages to pledging. Catch the video here.
In inviting us all to join her in pledging this stewardship season, she shares, "My list could go on and on. Take a moment to build your own list today. And when you're finished, perhaps you'll be surprised just how long it is ... Pledge with all the confidence that list, your list, provides."

Serve with Table to Table Ministry
Each Sunday, the Trinity community gathers around God’s table to be nourished by the sacrament of the eucharist. Through the ministry of Table to Table, Trinity parishioners venture from God’s table to the tables of our non-profit community partners, where they prepare and serve meals to our neighbors confronting food and housing insecurity.
Highlighting these two opportunities to serve our neighbors this month:
- Boston Living Center: Wed., Nov. 18, 10 am–2 pm
- Pine Street Inn: Wed., Nov. 25, 4:30–6 pm
See all the service opportunities in one signup sheet.
