From Discovery to Remission:
A Story of Strength

October podcast

Join us this Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a special conversation with Crystal Carpenter who shares her personal journey from discovery to treatment, to remission. Through moments of uncertainty, resilience, and hope, she offers powerful insights into the importance of early detection, support systems, and finding strength through life's challenges. Her story is a moving reminder that no one faces cancer alone and that hope can be found even in the most difficult circumstances.

Breast Cancer Screening Saves Lives

Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against breast cancer. Staying up to date with recommended screenings is an important step in protecting your health. If you are between the ages of 40 and 74 and at average risk, talk with your health care provider about getting a mammogram every two years. Mammograms can help find breast cancer early, when treatment is often most effective.

Be sure to discuss your personal and family health history with your provider, as some individuals may benefit from additional screening or testing. Together, you can create a screening plan that is right for you.

Preventive screening mammograms are fully covered at 100% with no copay under the UT SELECT medical plan when you use an in-network provider and meet standard age and gender guidelines.
