September Repair Cafe News

Knife sharpening repair coach Peter Poccia pauses the work for a photo op at the August Rhinebeck Repair Cafe. While not all cafes offer knife sharpening, we find that when they do, it's a popular station.

Learn How to Start a Repair Cafe in Your Town!

Ever wondered why there wasn't a repair cafe in YOUR town? Ever thought about finding out what was involved in starting one? Then this zoom is for you! We here at RCHV often get asked "Why don't you bring a cafe to X town" or "When can we have one in Y village?" This zoom will answer how some of our cafes got started and explains the process of how RCHV can help you bring a cafe to your town.

The zoom will include short presentations from organizers Linda Armour (Saugerties RC), Peter Marchetto (Port Jervis RC), Sarah Wilson (Yorktown RC) and Meg Winkler (Millerton RC) and RCHV Coordinator Suzie Fromer followed by a question and answer session.

The zoom is free but requires advance registration. You may use the QR code above or register here. The zoom will be recorded and will be shared on our YouTube channel. If you have any questions or would like to submit questions for the panelists to answer, you can do so by emailing Suzie Fromer.

SEPTEMBER REPAIR CAFES

September is here and that means our cafe calendar is busy busy busy! We're thrilled the Poughkeepsie Repair Cafe is returning this Saturday, the only cafe over Labor Day Weekend, and Ellenville hosts a pop up at a new day and time at the Ellenville Farmer's Market. Castleton-on-Hudson and Ossining move to new locations and Schuylerville and Rockland also return--and more.

For more information, including contact information for each repair cafe organizer and advanced signup links, visit our online calendar.

Help us keep Repair Cafe Hudson Valley going strong! Please consider donating at the link below. Donations go to our fiscal sponsor, the 501(c)3 Sustainable Hudson Valley, but will be earmarked for RCHV if you make a note saying it is for us. Thank you!
