Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel Recognized as the
May Member of the Month
Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel was recognized as the May Member of the Month. The business is now owned by two families, Doug Cale and Mitch Harnish, for nearly two years after the retirement of Dave Goodwin in 2016, who served as the Funeral Director for 40 years.
Dave Goodwin’s father, Carl Goodwin, bought the funeral home from Ralph Jahn and Al Reed in 1956, and since then the funeral home has the “Goodwin” name. “The reputation of the funeral home goes back to the values Carl set and we live by those daily,” said Doug Cale. “We live by the Golden Rule to treat every family in a fashion that we would want to be treated. It’s important for us that people feel they are at home and can trust us from the very beginning of the process and that we are consistent with that trust.”

Lorelai Lace Boutique Welcomed with a Ribbon Cutting
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors welcomed Ashley O’Reilly, owner of Lorelai Lace Boutique, with a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate her new boutique at 211 W Market Street in Bluffton.
O’Reilly worked at the previous boutique for a year and said she loved meeting new people in the community. The boutique became available for sale at the beginning of 2019 and O’Reilly took advantage of buying the business. “I was born and raised here, love this community and wanted to keep this business going,” explained O’Reilly.
Watching the downtown grow has been exciting and inspirational for O’Reilly. “Seeing the new generation of business owners and individuals coming in to keep the downtown growing, is exciting,” said O’Reilly. “I want to leave a legacy for my daughter and want her to see me succeed; even if it was a legacy of having a downtown store named after her.” The boutique is named after her daughter, Lorelai Lace.
