Congratulations to the Winners of the 2020 Marketing Contest!

DAAD North America would like to congratulate all who placed in the 2020 Marketing Contest. In first place with the highest number of votes this year was Saron Ghebremariam, whose photo is pictured at left. Second place went to Kara Sagan, whose picture can be viewed here. Call for Applications
RISE Germany

RISE Germany is a 10-12 week summer internship program for undergraduates in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, and computer science. Students receive the opportunity to work with researchers at universities and research institutions across Germany. The working language is English.   Apply by December 15th.

RISE Professional

RISE Professional offers summer research internships in Germany to Master’s and PhD students from North America at companies and non-university research institutions with strong relations to industry in the same fields as mentioned above. Apply by December 15th.

Academic Exchange in Times of COVID-19
DAAD Reports a Growing Number of Applicants

DAAD has recorded a strong increase in the number of applications received for many scholarship programs for next year. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, and restrictions for travelling to the US, Western Europe and North America remain very popular among German applicants. This year alone over 5,000 international students applied for a DAAD scholarship for a master's degree in Germany!

Call for Papers
German Studies Association Annual Conference

The German Studies Association (GSA) will hold its 45th Annual Conference from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 2021 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, Indiana. DAAD intends to contribute to the program through its sponsorship of seminars, panels, and round tables featuring DAAD German Studies Professors, the DAAD Centers for German and European studies, and other DAAD affiliated faculty and authors. The GSA is now inviting proposals for papers, presentations, and panels. Please click on the link below for more information.
