This specialist position executes strategic internal business communications for the Royal Canin North America business in line with our Five Principles and Purpose. The need for this role is critical to the Internal Communication function as the position supports creating and maintaining every channel of communication to ensure consistency in reaching Associates. What will be your key responsibilities?

The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is a skilled strategic communications practitioner and program manager. The SAE has broad strategic communications capabilities across tactics that span public affairs/government relations, content/writing, media relations, issues/crisis management, coalition-building, reputation management and social media/digital strategies. Familiarity with California political and regulatory issues and the news media is required.

Responsibilities
  • Understands public affairs and strategic communications strategies and tools
  • Lead and execute public affairs/strategic communications projects; independently accountable
  • Monitor public affairs and media channels on a daily basis for latest trends and case studies
  • Possess the ability to write strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
  • Pitching reporters; media monitoring; and understanding of all aspects of media relations initiatives
  • Deliver social media and digital strategy and tactics
  • Possess the ability to write content/documents including: proposals, strategic plans, client memos/correspondence, client performance reports, press releases, fact sheets, news advisories, social content, etc.
  • Implement public affairs plans
  • Contribute to the firm’s culture, through agency initiatives & events to support a collaborative and collegial work environment

Desirable qualifications include:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public affairs, government affairs, journalism, lobbying, or related work; with a BA/BS in a related field.
  • Agency experience highly preferred; experience in a public affairs/public policy agency preferred.
  • Industry knowledge and experience required, including a broad knowledge of concepts related to multiple industries, such as: energy, higher education, public health, tourism, technology, health care, insurance and transportation.
  • Must exhibit a demonstrated track record of implementing/executing strategic communications programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbal, written, and over the phone.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
