Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week
Notes of Kindness
Mon., Feb. 14
Grab a box of candy and write a note to give to someone that you are appreciative of for being in your life!
It can be a friend, family member, instructor - anyone you want to show kindness to.

Colors of Kindness
Tues., Feb. 15
Grab a coloring page, use your creativity to decorate or color it however you'd like, take a photo and submit the finished product to studentactivities@wvncc.edu. Then, pass along your artwork to someone to make their day a little brighter!
The coloring page that gets the most votes will receive a $25.00 Gift Card!

Submissions are due by 5pm on Friday, February 18th.

Be Kind to our Frontline
Weds., Feb. 16
The last three years, our frontline health care workers have been dealing with the pandemic. Let’s show them our appreciation by writing a note to a nurse, doctor etc.
All notes can be turned in to the Student Service Center for the Director of Student Activities to send out to local area hospitals.
If you have a specific someone you would like to thank feel free to address them by name.

Share your kindness with Student Activities!
Email studentactivities@wvncc.edu a quote about kindness, something kind you have done for someone recently, or something kind someone has done for you. Share your random act or thought of kindness and be entered to win some Northern apparel!
Entries are due by Monday, February 21. So, copy the email above and send in your entry!
Misconceptions & Bias

Misconceptions & Bias: An open discussion on the dangers of the misconceptions & bias we have about one another and how far those misconceptions can be from the truth.
From heritage and skin color to language and religion, join this session to dive into your own misconceptions and work towards personal growth.
Presented by Ron Scott, Cultural Diversity and Community Outreach Coordinator at the YWCA
All attendees will be entered to win a mini Keurig!

A digital spin on the classic Jeopardy game show. Join us for fun and prizes! Teams will be assigned on the night of the event.

The game is limited to 30 people, so please RSVP to studentactivites@wvncc.edu by February 21st to reserve your spot.

Priority Scholarship Deadline
The March 1st 2022-2023 WVNCC Foundation Scholarship Priority Deadline is Quickly Approaching!
Click here for access to the scholarship application. ONE application applies you for ALL scholarships offered through the WVNCC Foundation.

Completed applications can be e-mailed to financialaidoffice@wvncc.edu, faxed to 304-233-0888 or mailed to the address listed on the application. Applications may also be dropped off at the Financial Aid Office on the Wheeling Campus or any Campus Service Center location.
Financial Aid Important Dates
February 15: The Spring disbursement process begins
**REMINDER: if you register for any classes on February 15th or later, you must inform financial aid for these new credit hours to be updated in your financial aid package.
 
February 24: The Spring refund (credit balances) process begins.  
 ** REMINDER: students, be sure to have your refund preferences set up in Bankmobile.  
 
March 22: 2nd half of Federal Student loans disbursed to student accounts
March 24: 2nd half of Federal student loans refunded to eligible students via Bankmobile. 
Transfer Tuesday
WVU Transfer Tuesday
West Virginia University will be available to talk with WVNCC students about any questions regarding WVU, transferability, graduation, careers, and more.
WVU staff will be available on Zoom and WVNCC's ACTion Center Director, Lisa Soly, will be visiting the campus to meet with students. You can stop by in person or attend over Zoom!

It's tax time!
1098-T documents are not printed at WVNCC. Tax documents are available from Heartland ECSI.

ECSI clients may direct their students to the ECSI website (https://heartland.ecsi.net/) for any questions related to their 1098-T statement and to access an electronic copy of their 1098-T statement on the ECSI portal.

To access their 1098-T statement online, students will need their:
·       First and Last Name
·       Social Security Number
·       Zip Code that appears on their 1098-T form
 
Students with Electronic Consent
Students that have consented to receive their 1098-T electronically will receive an email notification (unless otherwise agreed upon) within 24 - 48 hours.
COVID-19 Weekly Testing
A reminder that Roxby Labs will provide free COVID testing weekly for STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES.

Normal Testing Schedule:
Wheeling
Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Testing in Wheeling will take place in the Education Center - Gym

Weirton
Fridays from 12:00 to 2:00pm

New Martinsville
Fridays from 12:00 to 1:00pm
Thurs., April 7
10am - noon
