Designated Truck Route Update
On January 14th your Chamber presented a deputation to Council outlining our concerns with the proposed Designated Truck Route. After over 4 hours of discussion, Council approved the proposed route in a 7 - 6 vote.

On the 17th we rode along the Expressway with a group of heavy trucks to get an understanding of the safety concerns we've heard from the public and businesses alike: that the effects of merging all the heavy truck traffic from 3 existing routes into one won't be cumulative; they'll be exponential.

In this month’s  5 Minutes for Business , the Canadian Chamber of Commerce takes a closer look at Canada’s energy sector and how Canada’s regulatory system is limiting the ability to get energy products to market.
