Greetings!
Serving on a commission or committee allows members of the community to focus on key issues within Pacifica and to then provide feedback, recommendations, and support to the council on those issues. This is a resident’s opportunity to not just learn about what is happening in their City, but to lend their voice to that process. Consider applying for one of the vacant positions in either the Planning Commission, Beautification Advisory Committee, or Emergency Preparedness and Safety Commission. Check out the recruitment notices posted below. Applications are due by noon on February 18.
With Valentines Day around the corner, the Shop Pacifica Gift Card Program has an exciting and unique limited-time offer. When you purchase a $50 gift card for a special someone between February 5 - 20, you will receive a bonus $25 gift card for yourself. Scroll down to learn more about this offer and buy a gift card today.
As always, go safely this week and please let me know if you have comments or questions, and thank you for wanting to Connect with Pacifica!
Sincerely,
Kevin Woodhouse
City Manager

Draw Your Neighborhood and
Submit Draft Maps for Redistricting
|
|
The second Public Hearing in the redistricting process will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 7:30 PM during the regular City Council meeting held via Zoom to consider the draft district maps. Submit Draft Maps for the City of Pacifica Redistricting Process by February 4.
The City of Pacifica wants your input on the City Council Districts based on 2020 Census data. On December 17, 2018, the City adopted an ordinance establishing a district-based system for the election of members of the Pacifica City Council by five districts. Every ten years after the federal census is complete, district lines must be reviewed and, if necessary, adjusted to keep the boundaries as nearly equal in population as possible, allowing for certain variances due to geography, topography, communities of interest, etc. This process of reviewing the census data and adjusting the district boundary lines is called Redistricting.
The City wants YOUR input on how you would like to draw your district lines. Draw your District Map and provide input on what factors are important to you in defining your neighborhood or community of interest. Submit your suggested map by Friday, February 4 to publiccomment@pacifica.gov or to the City Clerk at 540 Crespi Drive, Pacifica.
Information and mapping tools are available here.
