Luke Ledwon '23 recently qualified for District Jazz Band with his vibraphone and auditions for the Missouri All-State Jazz Band in March. Luke is considered the best jazz vibes player in the St. Louis area, earning a "I" rating on his vibraphone solo at the District Solo/Ensemble Festival last spring.
Student Faith Survey
Campus Ministry surveyed our students today about their faith. The results will allow us to develop opportunities for our students to grow in their faith this Lent and beyond. We encourage families to discuss the survey with their students tonight and share their own faith journeys.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held virtually Thursday, February 25, 5-7 pm and Friday, February 26, 8-11 am and 12-3 pm. Parents will receive links next week to register online with each of your son's teachers. There are no classes for students February 26.

Naeger Scholarship
Rising Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are invited to apply for the
Edward J. Naeger, Sr. and Karen (Jones) Naeger Scholarship by March 1. The $1,000 non-renewable scholarship requires a separate application and essay.
Griffin Assist
We will continue to offer Morning Griffin Assist 7:45-8:10 am every school day but Thursday and Afternoon Griffin Assist 2:10-2:40 pm every school day. Please check the school calendar for class meetings and other events scheduled during Griffin Assist.

Mentor Families Needed
We officially welcome our Class of 2025 tomorrow, February 5, and ask current families to serve as mentors. Our Mentor Program was established two years ago to help new families make the transition to Vianney. Be a Griffin for a Day
Our Admissions Team invites boys in grades 5 and 6 to Be a Griffin for a Day this Presidents' Day, February 15, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. This free event includes lunch and t-shirt.
Lunch Orders
Students who want to purchase lunch from Griffins' Café must place their order by 8:30 am that day. Seniors are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. For $5, you receive a bottle of water, bag of chips, and two chocolate chip cookies with your sandwich option.

The Daily Lunch Order form is located under the Resources tab in Blackbaud.
Griffin Gear Store
The Griffin Gear Store is open to customers during school hours. Please contact Lisa Hackett at 314-965-4853 ext.147 to arrange a shopping time as only two customers at a time are allowed in the store.
Graduation Lock-In
A parent committee is currently planning a graduation lock-in for the Class of 2021 to be held on campus after our May 15 graduation ceremony. To register your Senior, please send the $50 fee and permission form (or, email permission stating your son's name, your name, and overnight emergency phone number) to Dennis Matreci at dmatreci@vianney.com. Also, look for a letter in the mail this month for parents to volunteer for lock-in shifts.

COVID Vaccine Town Hall 
Independent Schools of St. Louis is hosting a virtual Town Hall on Tuesday, February 23, at noon for families who want to learn about the COVID vaccines. The town hall will be led by medical specialists in Infectious Diseases and Pediatrics.
Junior ACT
All Juniors take the ACT on campus Tuesday, March 2, with early dismissal after testing. Vianney submits the registration and payment for each Junior with no action required by families. Juniors are encouraged to review the free test resources provided in preparation for the ACT.

Virtual College Visits
Kansas State UniversityMissouri State UniversityUniversity of AlabamaUniversity of Kentucky, and University of Missouri-Columbia are teaming up to offer Zoom sessions for high school students on February 18, March 30, April 15, and May 6 from 6:15-7 pm.
Student Election Judge Program
The St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners invites high school students to work with veteran Election Judges in processing voters through the polling system, receiving hands-on experience about our elections. Interested students must be in grades 10-12 and between the ages of 15-17. Contact Dennis Matreci in the Leadership Center for more information.
ACT Prep Course  
If you would like to prepare for the April ACT, Sarah Kheriaty is hosting courses. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took her course.
Straight A Tickets
Students who received a voucher last spring for two baseball tickets for the 2020 season may still redeem them with the Cardinals Box Office. As always, redemption is based on availability and lost vouchers cannot be replaced. Contact the Cardinals at 314-345-9500 if you have any questions. We do not have any information yet on the 2021 Straight A Program.
