FAMILY CONNECTION | June 25, 2020
"We don't educate for the school, nor merely for the years one is in school, but for life."  Father Armentia, S.M . Our Class of 2020 officially leave Family Connection with this final issue for the 2019-2020 school year. We pray that they continue their journey as men of character and accomplishment.
First Day of School
The first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year is Monday, August 17. Our COVID-19 Task Force has been meeting regularly to discuss how to safely reopen campus and develop contingency plans if cases of COVID-19 spike in the coming months. We will share details as soon as the plans are finalized.
Student Schedules
Student schedules for the 2020-2021 school year will be finalized by the end of June. You will be notified when they are ready to view in Blackbaud. Schedules that may currently appear in Blackbaud are subject to change until you receive official notification from the school that your schedule has been finalized.
2020-2021 Textbooks
MBS Direct opens July 5 for the coming school year with free shipping the week of July 12. We will share the 2020-2021 textbook list once schedules are finalized.
Student Carpools
Families interested in forming carpools should contact  Monica Sabatino  at  msabatino@vianney.com  for a list of students in your zip code.
AP Student Scores
Students can send their AP score for free to the college, university, or scholarship program of their choice. The deadline to send the report for free is June 30. For students attending college in the fall, the report is the best way to ensure the school of your choice receives your official score. For high school students, the report indicates your early interest in a school of your choice.
The results for AP Exams are available Thursday, July 16. Students should use their College Board account  to log in at  https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores. This is the same account originally used to register for AP class sections.
Griffin Fund
We invite every family to make a donation to the Griffin Fund by the end of our fiscal year, June 30. Your donation directly supports your son's education above and beyond your tuition dollars. If your company offers a Matching Gift program, your donation to Vianney can be doubled at no additional cost to you.
School Nurse Wanted
We seek a school nurse to provide health care services to students, faculty, and staff in a proactive, caring, and compassionate manner, reflecting our Marianist principles and school culture. We invite candidates to review the requirements and responsibilities before applying online.
We want to support academic and athletic fitness this summer without compromising the health and safety of our community. That is why Vianney has restructured its summer camps this year. We will follow the most updated guidelines regarding health screening, proper cleaning protocol, and social distancing toward ensuring the safety of each participant.

Sessions are currently scheduled on campus June 29-August 6. The schedule is subject to change if healthy and safety guidelines change. Families will receive a full refund if a camp is cancelled.
Link Leaders Needed
We are looking for 40-50 Sophomores and Juniors to serve as Link Leaders next school year. It's your chance to pay it forward by leading the Class of 2024.
Trivia Night | Class of 2021
We invite parents from our Class of 2021 to help plan Trivia Night for Saturday, October 10. The funds raised at this event support your Senior Lock-In scheduled after graduation. Please email Dennis Matreci at dmatreci@vianney.com to learn more and join us for a planning meeting in late June/early July. The meeting will be held via Zoom if we cannot safely meet on campus.
College Jump Start | Class of 2021
College Counseling offers our rising Seniors the College Jump Start program at no cost. After attending, students will have applied to at least  one college, searched for college scholarships, and better understood the college application process. Please register to attend one of the two sessions:
  • Monday and Tuesday, August 3 & 4 | 12:30-2:30 pm
  • Monday and Tuesday, August 10 & 11 | 10:00 am-12:00 pm
College Jump Start will be offered virtually if in-person sessions compromise the social distancing guidelines set forth in August.
ACT Prep Course
If you would like to prepare for the September 12 ACT,  Sarah Kheriaty   is hosting a course via Zoom in August/September. It is $350 per student with a $50 discount if a sibling previously took her course. Register online now with payment due August 3.
Please contact Sarah Kheriaty at  skheriaty@gmail.com   if you have any questions.

MARIANIST MOMENT
"It is in prayer that you will find peace for your soul, the strength, enthusiasm and the means that allow us to multiply our efforts when we are overburdened.” ~ Blessed William Joseph Chaminade
