a final note from the 2025-26 president

As we publish this final eNews edition of the 2025–26 school year, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the PTSA and the Langley community this year. Thanks to the generosity of our families, PTSA donations have been put to excellent use. From purchasing classroom resources and supporting academic competitions to funding college visit opportunities for counselors and providing staff support when needs arise, PTSA contributions help make many of the experiences and opportunities that contribute to Langley’s success possible.

One of the highlights of my year has been working alongside extraordinary parent volunteers who generously share their time, talents, and resources to ensure that the Langley community remains second to none. I would especially like to recognize those volunteers whose youngest children are graduating this year. Many of you have devoted countless hours to Langley over the years, and your contributions have left a lasting impact. You will be greatly missed.

I would also like to offer a special thank you to Principal Stroud. Since joining us last fall, he has actively sought to build strong partnerships with parents in support of our school. We are grateful for his leadership and look forward to many years of continued partnership and success.

Thank you again to everyone who has contributed to making this a wonderful year at Langley. I will continue with the PTSA board as treasurer, and Stefanie Stayin will take over leading the organization. She has many years of experience running school volunteer organizations, and the knowledge of and experience with Langley that she'll bring to the role will make her a terrific PTSA president.

I wish you and your families a restful, enjoyable summer, and I look forward to all that the coming year will bring. Go Saxons!

a note from the 2026-27 president

As we reach the end of the 2025-26 school year, it’s my pleasure to thank our outgoing PTSA president, Karen Hall. We all deeply appreciate Karen’s many hours of work on behalf of our Langley community and her determination to leave us stronger and better than ever. Through Karen’s steady leadership, she found creative ways to work through challenges while bringing together the right mix of Langley staff, student and parent volunteers with their limitless capabilities. Our community is thankful for her contributions to date, and for her willingness to remain on the executive board as treasurer.

Thank you to the entire outgoing executive board, especially those members whose youngest students are class of 2026 graduates, and who have served our community so well for many years. With gratitude for their service, we wish Bonnie Myshrall, Sarah Koenig and Susan Connery and their families all the best. I am so thankful, also, for those board members who have agreed to continue to serve our student, staff and parents in new roles: Kristi Grgeta, Christina Saxon, Mary Lee, Kristi West, Karen Hall and Jenny Peoples. A special thanks to Chai Puri for her dedication week in and week out as editor of the eNews.

The talent and commitment of our executive committee, class parent team and myriad committee chairs combine to make the special sauce that allows us to of what allows us to continue to serve our LHS community at such a high level. Heartfelt congratulations to our class of 2026 graduates and their families, and the lasting impact they’ve made at Langley in the classroom, on our fields and courts, and as representatives of our arts programs and clubs. Wishing everyone a safe and restful summer, and in anticipation of a fantastic 2026-27 school year. Hail, Saxons!

It’s so much easier to find those event photos now than in another 3 years - and even though it still seems very far away, those Senior year events will sneak up on us. That’s where we pull together and play a wonderful slideshow featuring all four of their Langley years. Sports, music, drama, clubs , Homecoming, and the everyday fun — send it all! We want to remember the whole journey.
