This illustration, created at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reveals ultrastructural morphology exhibited by coronaviruses. Note the spikes that adorn the outer surface of the virus, which impart the look of a corona surrounding the virion, when viewed electron microscopically. A novel coronavirus, named Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019. The illness caused by this virus has been named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
COVID-19 AND SWIMMING POOLS
Stay tuned for news and updates delivered straight to your inbox.
Greetings! I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during this current virus threat. 🗞 As promised we will alert you of information regarding Coronavirus and pool water transmission as it becomes available. I promise I will try to put a limit on toilet paper jokes 🧻 Here is what we know about COVID-19 & swimming pools so far:

🔊 The Centers for Disease Control update states “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19."

Keep in mind that even with the above we still need to be cautious in our activities around and about the facility, as with any other public location. If it is determined 100% that maintaining a chlorine level and pH within the recommended guidelines, we are only getting the pool water off the hook. Handrails, ladders, patio furniture, towels, gate latches, etc are all still a possible means of transmission. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving and characteristics of the virus are still being determined. Showering before bathing and good pool hygeine practices are more important now than ever before.

🧪Until we are instructed otherwise, please continue to maintain your facilities swimming pool within the guidelines of your State or county Health Department Guidelines. Maintain a proper disinfection level at all times. ☎ Do not hesitate to contact your local health official with any questions.

I will continue to update you as information becomes available. Stay Safe and if you need anything at all please do not hesitate to call me 352.598.0229

Best regards, Rudy
