IndyGo Announces Inez Evans as New President and CEO
The IndyGo Board of Directors announced Inez Evans as their new President and CEO. Evans will be replacing Mike Terry, the current President and CEO in mid-to-late August. Currently, Evans serves as the the Chief Operating Officer for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), where she leads 1,600 employees and oversees nearly 700 vehicles. Evans brings more than 25 years of experience to IndyGo, including the installation of bus rapid transit service (BRT) and master planning for 100% fleet electrification. Read the press release here. MPO Deputy Director Included in Executive Leadership Series
The MPO's Deputy Director Sean Northup has been included in the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership (SKL) Series, Class XLIV. Each year, 25 individuals are chosen because of their significant community involvement and professional achievement; their demonstrated interest in community issues; a record of participation and achievement in voluntary community activities; and their willingness to expand their leadership role in the community. Internship Opportunity
The MPO is currently seeking a qualified intern for the Fall 2019 academic semester. The candidate will work part-time (no more than 20 hours per week) on innovative transportation projects and GIS analyses. This is a paid position. New Configurations Following Red Line Debut
When the Red Line opens later this summer, it will impact how users interact on the roads and crosswalks. IndyGo released brief videos highlighting what it means as a transit rider and a driver along the Red Line route. College Avenue, Meridian Street, and Capitol Avenue will all have new configurations. To watch the videos and get more information regarding safety once the Red Line opens, click here.
