Indianapolis MPO announces Winners of Transportation Prize for Butler Arts Center Competition
The Indianapolis MPO funded a small award for the Butler Arts Center Scholastic Art and Writing Competition to increase transportation planning exposure and interest to youth. The Scholastic Awards are open to teens in grades 7 – 12 from public, private, or home schools. Over 350,000 works across 29 categories of art and writing were accepted into the competition. The MPO selected two submissions for the award: Street View (Above, Digital Art Category, Malaya Lee of Greenwood) and The Wanderer (Below, Photography Category, Alyona Rosenthal of Columbus).
INDOT Kicks off 2019 Next Level Roads Season
Governor Holcomb and INDOT kicked off the 2019 Next Level Roads construction season last week. Over 1,100 highway projects funded with over $2 billion of state funding will be completed this season, as a part of a larger plan that allocates over $30 billion in the next 20 years. INDOT will also release $140 million to address winter damage, including repaving portions of I-465. Learn more.
Ford's City:One Challenge Comes to Indianapolis
Ford and the City of Indianapolis have partnered to launch the Indianapolis City:One Challenge to address issues of mobility in the city. Ford and local collaborators will provide up to $100,000 for testing of promising ideas through a pilot program. If you would like to provide an idea for the program, click here.
First Round of 2019 Community Development Block Grants Open for Applications
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has announced that the first round of 2019 CDBG grants are open for application. A video overview of the application can be viewed here. Round one proposals are being accepted until May 3 at 4:00 PM.
