The past year of Covid-19 has been difficult for all of us. Changes in routine, missed celebrations, inability to spend time with loved ones both near and far, as well as the financial and emotional strain it has put on so many families, has made us all take pause to re-evaluate what is important and where our energy should be focused. But for our children, with limited experience and fewer years of perspective, Covid-19 has been especially challenging. Missed soccer games and classroom experiences shared with friends and peers, missed birthday celebrations and family holiday traditions, missed hugs with grandparents and extended family outside their immediate households, has been detrimental to the development of their young minds and bodies.
This last year at Circle of Friends has required us to dig deeper, working together in new and innovative ways to strengthen our relationships, ensuring the social/emotional needs of ALL our youth is our first priority during such challenging times. We joyfully continue to celebrate all the milestones our youth are experiencing during the pandemic to help maintain a sense of normalcy and hope. Our mentors have made and delivered birthday cakes, we’ve celebrated a youth becoming a newly permitted driver, we cheered for a young budding artist being selected to work on a mural at Sisters Middle School, we championed a Mentor coming to the clubhouse to provide much needed haircuts, supported distance and in person school successes, found ways to keep children active and involved in creative and fun ways, and so much more!
We couldn't have done this without your support. From the bottom or our hearts we THANK YOU for your time, donations, and continued involvement in the lives of the youth we serve!
