key notes from the president

Interested in helping shape our organization's future? The Langley PTSA 2026-27 Nominations Committee will be meeting next week and is looking for volunteers for this short-term opportunity.

The Nominations Committee helps identify parents interested in being on the Board or leading a committee. If you are interested in this committee, please contact Christina.Saxon@yahoo.com no later than January 25. The time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours.

If you'd like to get involved or learn more, this is a great opportunity to make an impact!

Mark your calendars!

The Langley Art Show is Tues, Feb 11 at 6:30 pm. Come support the talented artists at Langley! The theme this year is Wings and Roots.

Submissions are due on Feb 5th. Please see the flyer for details.

We are excited to see what our talented students are working on!

ethics day

Save the date: March 12 is Ethics Day for seniors!

What is Ethics Day? It's an off-campus event for seniors where students experience several ethical dilemma modules where the "right" answer isn't clear. The purpose is to equip teens with decision-making tools they can use throughout their lives when confronting ethical dilemmas. It's a fun day and perfect for underclassmen parents who want to see how our seniors view the world. Come join us on the planning committee or on the day of the event. Email us to join the team at ptsalangley@gmail.com.

saxon service

Saxon Service - Fri, Jan 23 (New Date!)

Students Can Earn One Hour of Service Credit During School!

Our first Saxon Service of the new year is just around the corner! Please encourage your student to participate this Fri, Jan 23 in the cafeteria during Langley Links, where they can earn one hour of service credit. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of over 10 activities, including Valentines By Kids, a special activity this month where students create cards that will be delivered to local hospitals and nursing homes to bring smiles on Valentine's Day.

Saxon Service provides an opportunity for students to relax, socialize and recap the positive social and emotional benefits associated with helping others in need. Students who engage in at least 40 hours of service during his or her high school career (10 hours per year) are eligible to earn a Service Cord to be worn at graduation.

For questions about Saxon Service or if you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer contact Julie Zimmerman Hohl at jbzimmerman@fcps.edu.
