Feedback on proposed list of products for tariffs and taxes
Last week, the United States administration imposed tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum products from Canada, at the rates of 25% and 10%, respectively.
The Trump administration’s decision to impose these tariffs ignores the truth about Canada’s relationship with the U.S., and does nothing to address the issue of Chinese dumping. Ultimately, the tariffs will only hurt businesses, jobs and the economies on both sides of the border.
In response to these measures, Canada intends to impose its own tariffs on imports of steel, aluminum, and other products from the U.S. The Canadian government is asking for input on its proposed list of target products.
