thumbs up thinking
I never rate amazon deliveries, although they ask every time something is dropped off, and although they are always spot on. (I worship that very efficient company!)

After a delivery was not at my front door, amazon had me running to my Florida neighbors' various front doors - barefooted and in hurricane-remnant weather - to try to locate two large boxes which amazon showed me were delivered. Yep, there they were, two doors down.

Okay. No biggie. A minor inconvenience. (I mean, c'mon, that neighborhood is townhouses, for Pete's sake, not like I walked 3 miles.)

On the amazon app, I began to click "thumbs down / not so great" (since they asked) but I stopped myself. Wait, why would I take the time to rate the ONE inconvenient delivery when a hundred others have been "thumbs up / great" yet I never bother to compliment those?

Snippeteers, let's be careful how often we go to the dark side - the thumbs down - the negative - the gripe - the whining. Automatically.

If we are not willing to invest more time in the lighter side - the thumbs up - the positive - the praise - the compliment ... then we should shut our pie holes about the other. Automatically.

Let's go for thumbs up thinking.

How would you rate yourself in this?

"I just read your snippet ... I’m the Amy!! [prayer flares] I cried a bit and then smiled after reading. You’re like an angel sent to me. God has put so many angels in my path!! We just got back from the beach (visiting my sister)… so it's back to my treadmill and feeling hopeful … and grateful."
~ Amy in Maryland

"i could even hear the theme song in my head!! [mary tyler moore] and see her tossing her hat into the air ... what a great show ... and it brought us several spinoffs, too. and didn't you just love her interactions with ed asner as her editor on the news show? thanks for sharing.

"First let me say - this resounded immediately with me. You see, cancer has a way of putting EVERYTHING into perspective. We now live like we are dying ... and we all are!!! Using the good china for guests, buying a favorite craft, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. Kinder and more considerate of each other - 45 years together can make us a little grouchy at times ... it can be the only silver lining to this disease. Leaning much heavier on my faith and taking comfort in Gods words."
~ Cathy C in Maryland

"So true! Anyone who has lost a spouse (or parent) has probably gone through their things only to find 'special' items never worn - clothes they were saving for a special occasion. So sad. NOW is a special occasion. Dress up in your good clothes! Use your good china, even if it's just a weekday dinner for one. Enjoy life now!"
~ Peace, Pat W in Pennsylvania

horse-saddle.jpg
At a dude ranch in Texas, the cowboy prepping the horses asked the rider if she wanted a Western or English saddle. The woman ready to ride asked, "What's the difference?"

"One has a horn and one doesn't," said the cowboy.

"Oh, the one without the horn is fine," she said. "I don't expect we'll run into much traffic."
