uGO August Update

Last month, we launched the Mobility in the Modern Era virtual speaker series in partnership with University Circle Inc. and Cleveland's chapter of the American Planning Association. Author and pedestrian safety consultant, Angie Schmitt, presented on street design and pedestrian safety. If you missed it, you can watch the recording. Don't miss our next speaker on August 20th!
Mobility in the Modern Era

Join us on Zoom for a conversation with Kim Lucas, Assistant Director of Pittsburgh's Department of Mobility & Infrastructure, on Thursday, August 20th about Pittsburgh's innovative approach to the future of transportation. Kim's presentation will be followed by a moderated Q&A. PE and AICP credits are available. Click here for more information about the series and registration links.
COVID-19 Testing at Former CDC Site

The Euclid 118 parking lot (the former Center for Dialysis Care's parking lot) will be used as a temporary drive-thru COVID-19 testing site and will be unavailable for public parking between Friday, August 7th and Sunday, August 23rd. For nearby public parking options, see our parking map. Permits are still available in the Euclid 118 lot for $80/month. For Euclid 118 permit holders, there is a nearby temporary location during the COVID-19 testing window and all permit holders will return to the Euclid 118 lot on Monday, August 24th.
Some RTA Service Returns

Starting August 10th, RTA is bringing back some of the transit service that was reduced because of COVID-19.

  • Park-n-Ride service was suspended on March 24th. It will return on all three routes Monday-Friday with service every 30 minutes starting August 10th. Scroll to the bottom of this page for more info.
  • After a suspension of downtown trolley service, RTA will bring back a modified downtown trolley route called the Modified B Route on August 10th. Read more here
  • RTA bus and train service reductions that began on April 12th (outlined here) remain in place until further notice and continue to impact the Red Line, HealthLine and several major bus routes to University Circle.

In case you missed it!
  • Shared e-scooters have returned to Cleveland. Changes in the City's regulations allow scooters to travel up to 15 mph and extend the time they're available. Shared e-scooters are now available to rent between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. Our update has more information.
  • There's a new bike share option in Cleveland. HOPR replaced the former UHBikes public bike share program. HOPR bikes are dockless pedal bikes that lock to themselves. Download the app (iOS/Google) to get started. The map displayed in the app shows nearby bikes. It costs $1 to unlock a bike, and $0.15 per minute to ride.
  • We recently published a bike map showing all the bike routes through University Circle. uGO's biking page has the district-wide bike map as well as recommended biking routes if you're looking for options in the area.
