Carbon Free Challenge Results

What does a white rhinoceros and the beginning of Ohio's stay-at-home order have in common?

You may be looking for more context.

Between March 29th and April 12th, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) held the Carbon Free Challenge, a way for people to track the environmental impact of the switch many made to working from home. Below are the results of the challenge for all of NOACA's footprint which is the 5-county region including Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina counties, and the results for the uGO network which includes people who work in University Circle.
University Circle employees comprised over a third of all challenge participants and included employees from University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, University Circle Inc., the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Cleveland Clinic and several others. This small group of people in just a two week time period saved over two tons of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere.

That brings us back to the rhino. The emissions saved by University Circle participants in NOACA's Carbon Free Challenge is equivalent to the average weight of a white rhino. Congratulations to all participants!
