Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord
Psalm 100 sings out these very words, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.” V 1-2 And that is exactly what First Presbyterian Church in Sumter will do on September 17th. Last Sunday in worship, I mentioned that they are in the midst of their Bicentennial celebration. First Pres has always been known for its strong music program in the Sumter community and next Sunday afternoon they are offering a free Sacred Music concert in their sanctuary as a way to celebrate 200 years of ministry. I am planning to attend this special gift to the community and invite you to join in as well.
Musicians include Hamilton Stoddard and William Scobee, organists, The Sumter Brass Quintet, Kara Grover, Soprano, Lauren Decker and Gracie Reynolds, violins, with Kay Rasmussen, Accompanist
Let us join in the celebration and give thanks for the ministry of our sister church!
Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100: 3-5
Peace,
Josie
