Registration is now open for CCP-volumeEM community meeting: Towards a collaborative computational community for volume EM
Join us for the inaugural CCP-volumeEM Community Meeting, bringing together researchers, microscopists, biologists, computer scientists, image analysts, and software engineers to shape the future of computational support for volume electron microscopy (vEM). vEM encompasses powerful TEM and SEM-based techniques that enable nanometre-resolution imaging through cellular and tissue volumes, capable of producing terabyte-scale datasets. Effectively analysing these vast datasets requires coordinated, cross-disciplinary effort and robust, scalable tools. This meeting will kickstart the development of a Collaborative Computational Project (CCP) to address these challenges - sharing methods, establishing best practices, and supporting adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Next Generation File Formats (NGFF), and high performance computing. The meeting output will include a prioritised roadmap for how CCP-volumeEM can support the community going forward.
Date: 3rd November 2025
Time: 12pm - 5.30pm, followed by networking reception
Where: The Francis Crick Institute, London, NW1 1AT / Online
You can register at this link below (in-person or online, free tickets for both)
More info about what a Collaborative Computational Project (CCP) is can be found here, and a list of other CCPs across various domains is here.
