Industry Partner Working Group

We are excited to announce our new Industry Partner Working Group!.

The Industry Partner WG will play an additional role to ensure that communication between the vEM Community and Industry is robust and fair with the hope of creating a space for open dialogue and equal opportunities for Industry to be more involved in the vEM Community and vice versa. The remit of the Industry Partner WG will be set by the WG itself during the first meeting.

We anticipate that the Industry Partner WG will be of interest to vendors, suppliers, developers, etc. within the vEM space. Joining the Industry Partner WG does not mean you cannot be a part of other WGs, it just provides a single location for ease and transparency. The group is open to all who are interested.

We anticipate meeting quarterly, with brief updates from the other vEM WGs presented and time for additional agenda items like the vEM Technology Forum, possible sponsorship requests, collaborative development of training resources, and identification of areas for vEM Community input to aid Industry Partner goals.

If you are interested in joining the Industry Partner WG to be an active member in the vEM community, please email michele.darrow@rfi.ac.uk.

Research Article Highlight

A petavoxel fragment of human cerebral cortex reconstructed at nanoscale resolution.

Alexander Shapson-Coe et al., Science 384 (2024). DOI:10.1126/science.adk4858

VolumeEM, together with a powerful computational approach provided by Google, reconstructs a cubic millimeter of epileptic human brain (temporal cortex) including all the neurons, synapses, vessels and other cell types. The resulting connectomic maps are astonishing, offering tantalizing insights into brain function.
