prepare for back to school.

FREE BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR, SIOUX FALLS

Arts and crafts, games, prizes, free bike helmets while supplies last, kids sock and underwear giveaway, free lunch starting at 11am, outdoor safety info, vision screening, parenting information, fire truck, ambulance, and more. St. Joseph School, 601 W. 4th Street. Organized by Prairie View Prevention, Dakota Drug & Alcohol, and the Coalition for a Drug-Free South Dakota.

South Dakota Parent Connection's Back to School Resource Fair has a new location at The Dahl Arts Center, 713 7th St.

  • Downtown businesses will have activities and Make & Takes
  • Fun, food, freebies, crafts, school supplies and much more!


Hosted by South Dakota Parent Connection, Vucurevich Emerging Leaders, and South Dakota Family Engagement Center. The event is free and open to all.

The SD Dept of Social Services is providing opportunities for child care providers, community members, and families to give their input on how one-time funding for South Dakota’s child care system is spent.


 In-person and virtual sessions for families and community members will be held:

PARENT / FAMILY TRAININGS


Virtual - Positive Parenting Program, Aug. 16-18 from 12-1pm CT/11am-12pm MT. For parents/caregivers who have children with a disability up to 12 years old interested in general information about promoting their child's development. In each webinar, a Parent Network Specialist and Triple P practitioner will lead the presentation. A behavior specialist from the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Program will also participate to conduct a Questions & Answer session for tips and strategies. Parenting Tip
