January 31, 2023 - The Rise of Dr Google: Join the next Ask The Experts webinar as a panel of researchers and public health experts explore the trends and impacts of youth searching for health guidance on the internet.

February 7, 2023 - The ADHD Love Languages: How to Communicate Better to Solve Relationship Problems: So are you ready to learn the communication strategies that will silence discord, clear up confusion, and resolve conflict with your significant other?

February 10, 2023 - Nomination Deadline for 2023 SD Special Education Staff of the Year Award: The office of Special Education Programs would like to honor an individual who works in the special education field and has positively impacted the life of a student. A parent/guardian can nominate any staff member working with students in special education including (but not limited to) teacher, paraprofessionals speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education directors.

February 16, 2023 - Choosing the Best Summer Camps for Your ADHD Child: A Guide for Parents: It's important that families know how to find the best camps for their child with ADHD, including which questions to ask, and how to support the camp staff in setting up their children for success.

March 14 - 15, 2023 - 2023 SD Special Education Conference: This annual conference provides a unique experience to gather with South Dakota educators, related service providers, and parents. This in person event allows participants to learn about evidence-based innovations, educational trends leading towards best practices, and provide practical solutions for special education classrooms. Event is sold out.

March 23, 2023 - Anger Management for Youth: A free interactive training for youth to learn strategies to identify and cope with their anger in healthier ways.

June 13 - 14, 2023 - Midwest Conference on Deaf Education: The mission of this conference is to provide professional development opportunities to individuals who work with deaf and hard-of-hearing youth, birth to 21.

South Dakota Parent Connection has opportunities for individuals across the state to join our Board of Directors. Our board members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. They help inform our services and programs so we can better support South Dakota families.

The board is responsible for policies, finances, programs and property
Many on our board are parents of children with disabilities or special health care needs
A term on the board is a three-year term with reappointment available for 2 additional terms
The board meets the third Thursday of each month
