RENT & UTILITY ASSISTANCE

Funding available through the SD Housing SD CARES program for rent and utility assistance for individuals who have a financial hardship. This can include payment for a temporary hotel stay while an applicant is trying to find housing (ie. homeless individuals and families). Applicants can complete an application at this link or call 2-1-1 to apply by phone.

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) will launch a new program in February to assist homeowners with mortgage and utility payments. This program will require them to contact their mortgage servicer for options, which LSS can help them do or do on their behalf. LSS can begin the process now so those they serve can receive assistance once it is available. If you are a homeowner who is struggling or know of others who could use the assistance, please contact LSS at 605-330-2700 for more information.
