Welcome to our Virtual Worship for the Second Sunday of Easter, April 19

You can preview our texts here:

(This week, we begin with a St. Peter tour de force: A public speech in Jerusalem - actually, the second portion of his Pentecost speech, from the book of Acts - and a snippet form the first Letter of Peter. Ironically, Peter gave neither that speech - it was written by the author of Luke/Acts - or wrote that letter - it is a good text, but is dated from the mid-second century - but let's not dwell on that now. The Gospel of John gives us the story of the disciples sheltering in place after the resurrection, including cameo appearances from Thomas the Twin and Jesus... and the Holy Spirit).

For your convenience, a copy of the virtual bulletin is attached. There will also be four musical offerings with accompaniment and lyrics provided.

The service begins promptly at 10 AM but once again we will open the service at 9:45 so we may do a little greeting beforehand, and we certainly invite you to hang out afterwards for virtual coffee hour and conversation.

Once again we will 'mute all' for certain portions of the service, when other noise and side conversations can be distracting. It is not a fool proof system. So, be sure to monitor your own screen and make sure that you are muted when you need to be. Those who are reading, leading prayers, etc, can unmute in order to participate. Thanks for all you do to make this a meaningful community gathering.

Senior Warden’s Update:
At the Vestry Meeting this week, the members were unanimous in their appreciation of all our parishioners have done to help each other, and to help our neighbors through this crisis. Help has been in many forms, including keeping food going to the kids of HeartFELT even though they’re not in school, weekly contacts with every member of the parish with known special circumstances, standing up a Parish Help Line, staying in touch institutionally and individually, transitioning nearly all the services and events of the Parish to “virtual” form, keeping up our commitments to the charities we support and keeping pledges and other giving current…it’s all been extraordinary! Kudos to the entire Parish!
As to the future: For planning purposes, the Vestry is planning near-term activities with the assumption that we’ll need to be in “virtual mode” through May and perhaps beyond. The Calvert Arts Festival has been rescheduled to October 10 th  and applications for artisans are being accepted to the jurying process. The Parish Family Commission has begun planning a Blessing of the Backpacks service, and a time to recognize all the young people associated with our Parish who are graduating this year from high school or college. Repairs and upgrades consistent with the Governor’s guidance are underway. Ideas are fermenting for Zoom talent shows, cooking shows, and share-a-skill shows. You’ll be receiving specific dates we’ll be planning towards and opportunities to join in. In all things, we’ll be flexible and ready to alter plans as needed. The Connections Commission has done a phenomenal job getting the word out and is committed to keep it up as we continue through a sometimes confusing, but always challenging new world. Many things may still change, but Christ’s love for us remains the bedrock we know will never change.
Our prayers for your safety and for your families and friends, and our thanks for being worthy successors to more than 16 generations of hardy Christians who have called All Saints their spiritual home.

Senior Warden

Thank you Sue, for taking care of us.

The wine tasting group is a major contributor to the church's community outreach via our monthly wine voting, and those outreach missions are on-going and growing in importance during the COVID-19 outbreak. Due to the sudden rise in unemployment the local food pantry is seeing a large increase in demand at a time when they can no longer receive direct food donations, so they are greatly in need of funds to purchase food. We can donate to the church's outreach online, and direct that donation to the food pantry. Steve Watson (church treasurer) will be monitoring the contributions during the wine tasting and can let us know in near real time how much money our group has raised.

The church's website is:
Here's a link directly to the donation page:
To donate by credit card click on the "CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE" button
Once there click on "choose a fund" and select "Giving Back to Our Community" then select "Calvert County Food Pantry CCFP" as a sub category.
You can also put in a note that says you are part of the wine tasting group.

There is also a PayPal donation button; this option also allows you to add a notation to associate the donation with wine tasting and direct it towards the food pantry. But I do not think Steve can monitor these donations in real time.
