Welcome to our virtual worship for the 6th Sunday of Easter, but more importantly, our Annual  Rogation  celebration. If you want to learn more about Rogation, follow this link:   https://episcopalchurch.org/library/glossary/rogation-days   (Our special texts for the day are included in the bulletin which is attached for your convenience)

Since we are asking blessings upon seed and soil, plant and flower, and all creatures great and small - among myriad other things - please feel free to surround yourself with greenery and your favorite animals.
If it is a nice day, join our virtual worship outside - on your porch, on your deck, in your garden, from a shady spot in the yard...
If it rains - as it almost always does when we are offering the rogation liturgy - then select a virtual background to use for the Zoom room. (Check out the instructions in the newsletter, May 8, if you need help in doing that). Also feel free to gather a few plants around you if we must be indoors.
But, rain or shine, let's adorn our space with nature's bounty.

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins at 10.

Prayer of healing
Gracious and loving God,
In this time of uncertainty and crisis, we raise before you our fear, our anxiety, our deepest concerns and our greatest hopes.
We pray for all who are stricken by this virus, that you grant them courage and strength;
we pray for those who labor at personal risk to bring comfort and healing, that you protect them from all harm and bless the application of their skill and experience;
we pray for all who have been impacted financially - those who have lost jobs, those who are hungry, those who fear the loss of home or business, and those already on the margins whose suffering has increased - that you may be a source of hope for them and an inspiration to others who have the power to alleviate their anguish;
And, we pray that you will bring us together in this moment as a nation, that we rise to the single purpose of doing all we can to support the healing and safety and recovery of our neighbors near and far, that in committing ourselves to the welfare of the other we may discover that the love that binds us is greater than anything that might separate us;
all this we ask in your most Holy name, for you are the source of all healing, all hope, all love and all peace. Amen

Moving Through the Covid-19 Experience –
  Late Breaking News
By email and regular mailing, you’ve been sent a letter from our Bishop, and another from your Rector and Vestry providing the basics for how All Saints and the rest of the Diocese will begin to very gradually transition to more-usual worship and other activities. On Thursday, Governor Hogan released information about how his direction and guidance are evolving, including limited options for somewhat relaxing restrictions in Maryland. Here’s how these things fit together for All Saints. Consistent with our Bishop’s direction, there will be no changes to All Saints worship and other activities before the end of the month, and likely not for some time thereafter. All Saints will not be an early adopter of changes and, in accordance with Vestry determinations, we will be taking a pretty conservative approach to protect all our parishioners, to provide time to learn from the experiences of others, and to plan. On Wednesday, May 27 th , from 7:00 - 9:00 PM we will be holding the second All-Parish-Leadership Covid-19 Conference via Zoom to lay out a tentative plan for going forward, and after that we’ll provide further information. All Parish Chairs, Co-Chairs and Vestry Members are asked to reserve this time. Further information will be provided to each of you. In the meantime, please provide anyone in the Parish leadership any thoughts you’d like to be considered.

The HELPLINE is still available for emergencies. Feel free to access when necessary (443-684-6115) Thanks and with God’s help, we will get through this having learned lots of lessons about love and serving others!
 As the "Stay-At-Home" order remains in effect, we will be hosting a  Virtual Outreach Breakfast  from the comfort of your home on May 17th to replace our typical monthly on campus breakfast. As you eat breakfast on the 17th, take a moment to think about your church family, pray for all we do to support our Calvert community and pray for those who have been impacted by Covid-19. To keep our Outreach fully funded as planned, consider making a donation as you would at our regularly scheduled Outreach Breakfast. You can donate online via easyTithe or you can mail a check to the church (be sure to note Outreach Breakfast on the check!
Les Saints du Vin – Sunday

We will be having our second Zoom wine tasting Sunday May 17th at 4:00.
Following is the information to join the meeting
Meeting URL:
Meeting ID:
883 2534 0325
We plan to use the same format as last time with everyone doing their own local wine tasting presentation but we won't do the voting for the best presentation. Here is a refresh of what we did the last time:

We will go around to each attendee for a quick hello and welcome before we start the wine tasting presentations.  Each household uses a wine of their choice, and provides their own hors d'oeurves . Each household gets about 5 minutes to, update us on how they are doing, present their wine, discuss it's attributes and explain / describe their food selection. The presentation is intended to be fun, it can be entertaining, interesting, informative, funny, ....it may be all about the wine, or may have little to do with the wine, so be creative. The format is entirely up to the presenter similar to our usual wine tasting.
  The charity we would like to recommend for this month is Project Echo which is a Calvert County homeless shelter. Project Echo gets a majority of their funds from their annual fund raiser the "Empty Bowl Supper" which is a popular event in the county and is usually held in early April. This year's event was cancelled due to COVID-19.  That left Project Echo short about $30,000 from their typical funding; so far they have only made back about $6,000 in other donations.
We can donate to the church's community outreach online, and direct that donation to Project Echo. I hope to have Steve Watson (church treasurer) available again to monitor the contributions during the wine tasting and let us know in near real time how much money our group has raised.
The church's website is:
Here's a link directly to the donation page:
To donate by credit card click on the "CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE" button
 Once there click on "choose a fund" and select "Giving Back to Our Community" then select "Project Echo" as a sub category.
You can put in a note that says you are part of the wine tasting group.
There is also a PayPal donation button; this option also allows you to add a notation to associate the donation with wine tasting and direct it towards Project Echo.
