November 2019
From the President
Greetings! Podcar City 2019 was a great success with well over a hundred attendees! The presentations are posted on the website.

We conducted an audience feedback process where we asked the audience for their primary transportation-related concerns. We then had six different presenters inform the audience about six different advanced transit modes and explain how each matched up to each concern. The audience then voted on how they felt the technologies ranked in meeting each need. The results are summarized in the above chart. While podcars could be expected to rank well at a podcar conference, it should be pointed out that the majority of the audience had never attended a previous Podcar City Conference and they represented a wide range of transportation professionals and general public.

Please consider submitting a paper to the ASCE APM Conference. The deadline has been extended to December 6.

As always, enjoy reading!

Best regards,

Peter Muller, ATRA President

The NEXT Future Transportation module is a far cry from the sleek visions of self-driving cars designed by Tesla or Mercedes.
