yaNY offers in-class Residencies, interactive Performances, Family Programs and Professional Development, all aligned with your curriculum and tailored to meet the individual needs of your teachers, school  and students.  As you near the cutoff date for POs, we hope that you will consider us to meet your student's arts education needs.

Klez for Kids!

Klezmer music originally comes from Eastern Europe, where it was performed by travelling Jewish musicians who would gig at weddings or special events.  Klez for Kids is a fast-paced introduction to the history of Klezmer, the immigrant experience, the Yiddish language and a recreation of an old-country wedding. 

Klezmerfest is an internationally acclaimed klezmer band with a decade of experience in classroom instruction.

Russian Folk
Music and Dance

The Russian music, dance and song ensemble Barynya is a world renowned group that enjoys exalting stature as the premier Russian folk ensemble outside of Russia. Barynya presents Russian, Cossack, Ukranian, Jewish and Russian Gypsy traditional dancing, music, songs and virtuoso performances on isntruments including the balalaika, garmoshka (Russian folk button accordion), and gusli. Experience an authentic visual world of traditional stage outfits with "sarafans", "kokoshniks," "rubashkas," "sapogis" and "kosovorotkas," and partak in Russian songs and tongue-twisters!
