Our COVID-19 Response
A message from Charlie Crawford, CEO
Our top priority at Hyperion Bank is to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees, and communities. Our executive team has been meeting daily to review the most current guidance from the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO), and state and local authorities, to make proactive adjustments to our Business Continuity and Pandemic plans that are currently in place.

Please know that we are currently open for business. We have been diligently disinfecting all common areas throughout the day. However, we request that visitors who have had flu-like symptoms or have traveled to affected areas 14 days prior contact us via phone or email instead of entering the building. This is key to keeping the virus from spreading, along with measures like social distancing and frequent hand-washing.

Hyperion Bank’s mission is to continue bringing community banking to you through our technological capabilities. Using online banking and our mobile app, we believe we can and will continue to serve you in a seamless manner.

  • Online Banking: If you are not already registered, please contact us at 215-789-4200 or customerservice@hyperionbank.com for further assistance. Once you are set up for Online Banking, you will be able to check your balance, pay bills, and make transfers from the comfort of your home.

  • Mobile App: You can bank from anywhere with the Hyperion Bank app for your smartphone (Android and iOS). Download the app that works for your device and you'll get all the same tools, plus you can make mobile check deposits.

  • Telephone Teller: If you wish to not sign up for online banking but need to check your balances and listen to your recent transactions, please contact customer service at customerservice@hyperionbank.com. If you are already registered for this service, dial 888-231-4982 at any time to retrieve your transaction history.

If you need to make changes to your account, order a debit card, or have any questions, please contact customer service or call us at 215-789-4200 and we will gladly assist you.

As a friendly reminder, if we contact you we will never ask you for your personal pin or passwords. During this vulnerable time we want to make sure all of our customers are alert to potential scams.

We are committed to keeping you informed of our plans in the coming days. Please check our website and social media pages for updates. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out.

Helping Small Businesses with PPP Loans:
APPLY at Hyperion Bank
What you should know about the CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program
On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ( CARES Act ) was enacted to help support businesses and families through the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In particular, the CARES Act expanded the SBA Section 7(a) loan program, also referred to as the “Paycheck Protection Program” ( PPP ), which aims to support small businesses. We are encouraging all our small business borrowers who are impacted by COVID-19 to consider applying for a loan under this new program, which provides some critical benefits , including:

  1. Cash to cover select business expenses (such as employee salaries and payroll support, rent or mortgage and utilities payments, insurance premiums)
  2. 6 months of deferred loan payments
  3. Loan forgiveness (a portion, or possibly all, of your loan may be forgiven)

Key Points:
  • Length of a PPP loan: 2 years
  • Interest rate on a PPP loan: 0.5%
  • Maximum dollar amount of a PPP loan: 2.5x of your average total monthly payments for payroll costs of the business during the 1-year period before the loan is made; payroll costs include salary, wage, vacation, parental, family, medical or sick leave, severance, health care benefits, and local taxes.
  • Last day to apply for a PPP loan: June 30, 2020--BUT, please note that it takes time for you to complete the application and to process your approval. Also, note that there are a limited amount of funds available under the CARES Act for PPP loans, so the earlier you apply, the better. The SBA will start accepting applications from small businesses and sole proprietors on Friday, April 3; and from independent contractors and self-employed individuals on Friday, April 10.
How to apply for a PPP loan*:
Application Form, Fact Sheet, SBA Information
As an approved SBA lender, Hyperion Bank can help you obtain a PPP loan. We are accepting applications from all businesses with 500 or fewer employees, including sole proprietors, self-employed individuals, independent contractors, nonprofits, veterans' organizations, and Tribal business concerns. Businesses in certain industries with more than 500 employees may apply for a PPP loan if they meet applicable SBA standards ( click here for details).

To apply, please follow the instructions from the links below, fill out the application form, and submit it to us with other required documentation.

We are here to help small businesses through this process. You may submit your completed application form and contact us for assistance as follows:

Support Your Local Businesses
Order Takeout, Buy Gift Cards, Shop Local Online, Give Great Reviews
Amidst the health crisis, small business owners are struggling to survive the loss of business associated with mandatory stay at home orders and social distancing. Many small businesses--especially in the restaurant sector--are trying hard to keep their workforce employed while confronting their own small operating margins. Here are some ways you can help local businesses stay afloat and maintain their workforce while practicing safe distances during the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Order food for take-out or delivery
  • Buy gift cards now for future dining/purchases
  • Patronize local stores online
  • Leave online reviews (Yelp, Google)
  • Reschedule (instead of cancelling) restaurant events
  • Give your favorite small businesses a shout-out on social media.

These businesses help make our communities great places to live and work. If we want them to be here when this crisis is over, we need to support them however we can now.
COVID-19: How to Help Healthcare Workers
US healthcare workers are in urgent need of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Here are a few ways to help:
  1. Visit DonatePPE.org to find lists of all the supplies medical professionals need, and contact information for facilities and physicians to help you direct your donations to the people who need them most.
  2. Search on GoFundMe.org for "masks," "N95," "PPE," and other keywords to find crowdsourcing campaigns where you can make a financial donation in support of specific institutions, cities, and states.
  3. Contact your state Health Department (see links above) for donation information.
Hyperion Bank salutes all the healthcare workers and first responders who continue to care for patients at significant personal risk to themselves and their families. To everyone working to keep our communities and population safe, thank you for all you do!
