. The highly acclaimed work, a reflection of the year the young author spent walking across America, has been described as

moving
. The Saxon community chose Forstheofel’s book as this year’s Langley Read for upperclassmen.
Forsthoefel
will conduct a
listening workshop
(open to all students) in the
Library
and a
book signing
during lunch and after school.

Our It’s Academic team
squared off against Holton-Arms and Albert Einstein HS last weekend in
a test of quick wit and knowledge
in the 58th season of the quiz show. This year’s team consists of
Selena Bao, Dan Ni
and
Matt Rubin
. The TV program, recognized as the longest running game show in the world, is a showcase for area high schoolers’ academic skills and is filmed at the NBC studios in Washington, DC
.

who started a program last summer in Guatemala to help babies with facial birth defects. The club will

activities

The boys’ team took home the district title from the
Liberty District Golf Tournament
, held Sept 26 at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course.

Kudos to Coach Shifflett
, who posted her
400th career win
with LHS volleyball!
The squad reached the milestone with a win against Yorktown HS on Sept 27. Under Coach Shifflett, who started the program in 1999, the Saxons have won two state crowns, five regional championships, and numerous district titles.

11am – 1:30pm -- most heavily enrolled; packages the greatest number of meals
Shift 3:
2pm – 4:30pm -- finishes the meal packaging and assists with clean-up
