At our Tuesday school mass, we were honored to hear 8th-grade student Ethan Weekley share his reflection on the Venerable Augustus Tolton. Watch Ethan's inspirational reflection HERE.

Ash Wednesday

Next Wednesday, February 14, is Ash Wednesday. All are welcome to join our 8:45am school mass. The Church is also offering 3:15pm Ash Service and 6:45am or 7pm Mass. Click HERE to view the full Lenten schedule.

Sickness Protocols

All students should be fever-free (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 24 hours before they can return to school.

COVID guidelines from the Archdiocese Office of Catholic Schools recommend that those diagnosed with COVID follow the same procedures (24-hour fever-free); quarantining and masking are no longer required.

All student absences should be reported to Mrs. Connolly by completing the online absence reporting form or calling the Main Office at 773-445-7711. In addition to notifying the Main Office, please also send an explanatory email to the homeroom teacher.

ABSENCE REPORTING FORM is always linked under Quick Links of each newsletter and is also available on our website (under both Quick Links on the homepage and the Parent Resources section).

PowerSchool Update

This morning, PowerSchool informed us that they have fixed their notification issue. Parents/Guardians should be able to return to their normal notification status. If you made adjustments in your settings, please remember to re-adjust the settings options (none, daily, weekly, etc.).

Valentine’s Day Observed

In consideration of Ash Wednesday, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day as a school on Tuesday, February 13. Students may join in a “free” dress down in Valentine’s colors (red, white, pink). Bringing a Valentine's card or small favor for classmates is optional. If bringing Valentines to share, please ensure every student in the homeroom receives one. If needed, you may confirm the number of students in the class with the homeroom teacher. Absolutely NO edible treats are permitted. Thank you for your cooperation.

Urgent Need for Volunteers!

The FSA urgently needs a coordinator for our upcoming Spirit Day. The date is set for Friday, May 24, and a “playbook” will be provided, but in order to host the event, a lead volunteer coordinator is necessary. Spirit Day is a favorite day of many of the students - filled with games, friendly competition, and camaraderie with classmates. For more details, please connect with FSA Chair Kathleen Hogan at [email protected].

FSA is also looking for volunteers to help with the yearbook. Our school yearbooks were a beloved volunteer-led tradition that had not been produced in a few years due to a lack of volunteers. Cortney Flynn has offered to lead the production effort, but additional volunteers would be a great help. Contact Cortney for details at [email protected].

Recycle Your Paper Towel Rolls

Media Class is looking to repurpose paper towel rolls for a project. Feel free to send cardboard rolls to Mrs. Cindy Quick in the Media Center.

Thank You

Thank you to our School Advisory Board for hosting Trivia Night last week. We had an incredible turnout and great fun for all!

Fun Food Day was also a success! Thank you to the FSA and the Barraco Family for bringing this exciting day to the students.
