Report Card Day

Today, all students will bring home their Trimester 2 report cards. We encourage you to spend time this weekend reviewing with your child. Please sign and return the manilla envelope as an acknowledgment of your receipt; you may keep the printed report card for your records. If you wish to arrange a time to discuss your child’s progress with their teacher, please feel free to email the teacher directly. Link to STAFF DIRECTORY.

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

Please JOIN the St. Barnabas community this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

SATURDAY - Join us for a special 4pm Mass at the Church, followed by a soda bread reception in the Church Hall. The St. Patrick's Day mass is a long-standing and beautiful tradition. Learn more about the history of the annual mass HERE.

SUNDAY - All are welcome to march with the St. Barnabas float in the South Side Irish parade. We are float #15 and will meet on 103rd near Beverly Bank beginning at 11am. The parade kicks off at 12pm. Children are welcome but must be escorted by a designated adult chaperone.

Service Day is Friday, May 17! All families are asked to register for this day, a required attendance day (and an 11:50 a.m. dismissal day); the online registration will launch just before Easter.

We are excited to share a few new organizations we will partner with: Meals on Wheels, Pro Labore Dei, and Edna White Community Garden.

We will continue our partnership with Belhaven Nursing, BirthdayProject.org, Burst Into Books, Catholic Charities, Creative Chicago ReUse Exchange, Friends of the Chicago River, Growing Home, Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation, Pullman National Monument, Share Your Soles, Smith Village, and Universal School.

We welcome and encourage parent chaperones. If you can join in the day, please sign up when you register your child later this month.

Congrats to VB and BB

Congrats to our winter sports student-athletes, Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball, for their dedication and success this season! Across the board, all teams had great seasons, with the majority of the teams advancing far in the playoff series.

Girls Volleyball highlights include 6A with 2nd place in the St. Al’s League and 2nd place in the Marist Tournament. 5th-Burklow also had a 2nd place finish in the St. Al’s League and 2nd place in the SouthSide Conference.

Boys Basketball highlights include four teams winning their respective end-of-season tournaments:

  • 4th Grade Red won the West Bracket of the 4th Grade South Suburban Basketball League
  • 5th Grade Red won the Mt Greenwood League
  • 5th Grade Grey team won the North Bracket of the 5th Grade South Suburban Basketball League
  • 7th Grade White team won the West Bracket of the 7th Grade South Suburban Basketball League

We extend a huge thank you to all the coaches who were so generous in sharing their time and talent with the students.

Last Call for Banners

As we honor the 100th Anniversary of St. Barnabas Parish, we will line Longwood Drive with banners. It will be a magnificent display celebrating our heritage and St. Barnabas's lasting impact on so many. The final day to purchase is Monday, April 1. We invite you to honor your family or company by purchasing a banner HERE.

Notre Dame Concert

The Notre Dame Jazz Band will be performing with our student band on Friday, April 12! This is an incredible opportunity for any music lover (or ND fan) to enjoy. Bring the entire family to the school gym. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the performance begins at 7pm. Details HERE.

Pat Mac Highlights & Photos

Last Friday was an extraordinary day as we honored the life and legacy of Patrick McNamara. We had over 50 students shave their heads or trim their hair and raised over $23,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Those students sharing in dress down and face painting helped raise over $4,000 for Pat Mac’s Pack. Thank you to all, and we hope you enjoy these PHOTOS from the day. A note of thanks to Jessica McCarihan, Colleen Cooney, and Collen Youpel for your help in supporting the school's efforts.
