Winston

Advent Action

This weekend, we begin the first Sunday of Advent. Advent can serve as a magical time of reflection in anticipation of Christ's birth. Throughout the Advent season, we will have wreaths set up throughout the school so students may pause during their day. Today, we also begin our Advent Action. Using the beautiful children's book How Winston Delivered Christmas, students will read the story with their homeroom and will be encouraged to complete good deeds each day.

Report Cards

We wrap our first trimester with gratitude to our incredible teachers and students. It has been a trimester of dedication and great growth, and we look ahead with excitement for Trimester 2.

Today, students bring home their report cards. You may keep the printed report card for your records. Please sign and return the envelope to acknowledge your receipt.

Art to Remember

Items will be sent home today with your child if you ordered Art to Remember and shipped it to school. If you missed out on placing an order, you may ORDER anytime throughout the year, but please note that orders placed now will not arrive in time for Christmas. Questions may be sent to art teacher, Mrs. Bachler at [email protected].

Prayers for 8th Grade

Tomorrow morning, our 8th grade students will take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at their chosen high school. We ask for prayers of courage and confidence for the students. We know they are all prepared to master their exams, and our hearts are full of pride for this extraordinary group.

Prayers for 2nd Grade

Our 2nd-grade students will make their Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Tuesday at 7pm. The students have shown great reverence as they prepare for this important step in their Catholic faith. May God bless them.

Progressive Mixer Tomorrow Night!

For all those attending the 17th Annual Progressive Mixer on Saturday night - we wish you an evening of great merriment. Many thanks to the Men’s Club and the gracious hosts for opening their homes to benefit St. Barnabas School.  The evening begins in the gym at 6pm!

Luminary

Christmas Luminaries

Warming our hearts and brightening the way, the luminaries are a service project coordinated by the St. Barnabas 8th-grade students, families, and staff. This year's proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity selected by the students. Luminary kits for Christmas Eve may be purchased for the entire block (288 candles) or an individual house (18 candles). Kit pick-up is on Sunday, December 17. CLICK for purchase details.

Polar Express

Polar Express Movie Night

Next Friday, December 8, join us for a 6pm showing of the Polar Express, hosted by our Student Council. A suggested family donation of $5 will be donated to the Lights and Ladders Brigade and the Parish Red Tag Program. Pajamas are encouraged, and a hot chocolate and concessions stand will be available. Doors open at 5:45pm!

Jeanne Reilly Wedding

Congrats to Ms. Reilly

We welcomed Ms. Jeanne Reilly to our administrative team at the start of this school year. She is intelligent, kind, organized, and always willing to pitch in and help whenever needed, we feel so blessed to have her as our School Business Manager. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Ms. Reilly was married; we wish her all the love in the world as they begin a new chapter.
