Pray for Pope Leo

We invite each of you to join us in prayer for the health and healing of Pope Leo XIV. Let us ask God for protection to strengthen, comfort, and renew him so he may continue to serve as a faithful leader of our entire world.

Pack the House Tonight!

TONIGHT - Friday, October 16, let's Pack the House for Girls Basketball as we honor the dedication and commitment of our 8th grade student-athletes. We begin the night with 7th grade at 5pm. 8th grade games begin at 7:20pm. The dress theme for the night is USA - wear Buckeye spirit wear or your favorite shades of red, white, and blue (no political apparel/accessories, please). Learn more.

As a reminder, all children at Pack the House events should have a designated adult chaperone (a parent, a parent of a close friend, etc.).

IDEA Services Funding

At St. Barnabas, some students with IEPs/Service Plans receive additional support funded through CPS under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). This week, we learned that because federal funding for special education services in private schools has been significantly reduced, these services are expected to end much earlier than anticipated this school year. While we do not yet have an exact end date, we know this will affect academic, speech, and social work services. We are deeply disappointed by this news and remain committed to advocating for our students. We will work closely with our service providers to continue support for as long as possible, and we remain guided by our Root Belief, We are a community of unique learners, always growing and learning.

You may reach out to Ms. Sadowski and Mrs. Reichard with any questions or concerns.

Ofrenda Altar

In honor of Día de los Muertos, we will create a school-wide Ofrenda Altar to celebrate and remember loved ones who have passed away. This has become a beautiful tradition at school over the past few years, and we invite all students and families to bring in a photo or small item that represents someone special to their family. Please label each item or photo with the student's name and homeroom so we can ensure everything is returned after the celebration. Thank you for helping us create a meaningful display of remembrance.

OUR FAITH

Sacramental Promises Mass on Sunday

This Sunday, October 18, we invite our 2nd and 8th grade families to 10am Mass to share in their Sacramental Promises. All students making their sacrament of First Reconciliation, Holy Communion, or Confirmation will be called to the altar for a special blessing during Mass. Students in 2nd and 8th who are not making their sacraments are also encouraged to join us. Before Mass, at 9am, 8th grade students and their Confirmation sponsor (or a parent) are asked to gather in the Church Hall for a Reflection.

Parish Life

As we enter 100 days of being blessed to welcome Fr. Homero Sanchez and the Augustinian community to our school and parish, we pause to reflect with gratitude. As a Catholic school, our culture, goals, and philosophy are intertwined with parish life. We ask you all to join us on Sunday, November 22, at 10am as Fr. Homero is formally installed as pastor of St. Barnabas Church. Please take a moment to read a letter from Fr. Homero, in which he asks each of us to remember that we are partners in ministry, called to walk together, support one another, and build up the Body of Christ. Letter from Fr. Homero.

All Saint’s Day

On Sunday, November 1, we celebrate All Saints' Day. This day has become a cherished school event as our 4th graders help us honor the lives of the saints.

The Saints' Day Mass and Museum typically take place on a school day. This year, All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday, and we are looking forward to celebrating at our 10am Parish Mass. After Mass, please join us in the gym as the 4th grade students present on the lives of their chosen saint. Learn more.

SPR Welcome Mass

On Saturday, November 7, St. John Fisher will host an SPR Welcome Mass at 4pm. This will be the only Saturday afternoon Mass within the four SPR Parishes of St. Barnabas, Christ the King, St. Cajetan, and St. John Fisher. Join us in welcoming Fr. Homero Sanchez, Fr. Francis Galvan, and Brother Joe Ruiz to our SPR community. Come for Mass at St. John Fisher and stay for fellowship & light refreshments afterward.
