INFORMATION SUNDAY

August 16 - Information Sunday is our kick-off to the school year. We begin with 10am Mass in the Church as we celebrate together and welcome our Augustinian brothers. The School Event begins after Mass at 11:30am. You'll check in with a member of our School Advisory Board and receive your homeroom teacher assignment and Big Bucks Raffle tickets. 6th graders will receive their new iPads! You should also drop off all school supplies and medical forms. Visit the homeroom, greet the teachers, and on your way out the door, stop by the gym to pick up your pre-ordered uniform sweatshirts and gym uniforms.

This event is required for all families. If you have a conflict, please email Mrs. Connolly at sconnolly@stbarnabasparish.org to arrange a pickup of your family packet between August 17 - 19.

Important Note: On Sunday morning, all staff will be at Mass. The doors will not open for the school event until all teachers are in the school building. Families are welcome to arrive in a staggered manner between 11:30am and 12pm. Please enter via the Main Entrance. The event will conclude by 1pm.

PREPARE FOR INFO SUNDAY

Family Authorization - Earlier this week, we emailed all households the required Family Authorization form. The vast majority of families completed it immediately - thank you. If you have not yet submitted, please do so within the week. Complete Family Authorization.

Medical - All forms are due at Info Sunday check-in. Please carefully review your forms to ensure all information, including all required signatures are complete before turning them in. Important Note: All Fall Sport Athletes: Girls Basketball, Cheer, Football, Jr. Flag Football, and Soccer are required to have an annual sports physical or medical form on file. Students who are not in compliance may be prevented from participating with their team until proper documentation has been submitted. View Medical Requirements

School Supplies - Please bring all school supplies to Info Sunday. Communal supplies: paper towels, tissues, wipes, and plastic bags do not need to be labeled with the student's name. All other supplies should be labeled with the student's name. View the Supply List for Each Grade.

Uniforms - All St. Barnabas students (Preschool through Grade 8) are required to wear a school uniform beginning on the first day, August 20th. If you ordered uniform sweatshirts or gym uniforms from our online Buckeye Shop, please visit the gym at Info Sunday to pick up your purchase. Uniforms are still available for purchase through Schools Are Us and Martinelli’s. View the Uniform Regulations

BEGINNING OF THE YEAR DETAILS

Opt in for Text Alerts - We send occasional notifications and reminders via text, but you must opt in to receive. Please text Yes to 67587. Ensure the phone number you text from is the one listed in your school contact record. We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to opt into this helpful service.

School Schedule - The schedule at the start of the year runs a little differently. View the details for the first weeks and what to bring and wear each day. View Schedule

Register for Extended Day - Registration for our Before and After Care is now open. Enrollment is accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year, but all students using this service MUST be pre-registered before they first attend. Care begins on Monday, August 24. View the details

Hot Lunch - Optional hot lunch is available to all students in Kindergarten - Grade 8; milk is available PK - 8. Service begins on Tuesday, September 1. Online orders through Meal Manage can be placed beginning on August 24. View the Hot Lunch details. Important Note: All students should bring a daily lunch from home (+ snack for PK and K) from Friday, August 21 - Monday, August 31.

Order Spirit Wear - The Buckeye Shop just re-opened with a new collection of Spirit Wear! Place orders by Sunday, August 23, and items will be delivered to school just after Labor Day. Spirit wear can be worn every Friday, around the neighborhood, and is perfect for parent fan merch! Important Note: This is a separate order from the gym uniforms and sweatshirts that most families just ordered.  Shop the collection.

Big Bucks - Big Bucks is the school’s largest annual fundraising event, generating $100,000 for the school! This year's event is now underway, and the $50,000 Grand Prize drawing will take place at the Parish Fall Fest on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Each family will receive their 3 tickets in the Info Sunday packets. Learn more about Big Bucks and how you can support in additional ways. Volunteering - In keeping with the Catholic tradition of service, volunteerism is an important part of our school culture. We ask each parent to become involved with our school community. We want each of you to find a role that suits your interests and availability - that could be a few hours, or a larger time commitment with an auxiliary board or coaching position. Learn more about the volunteer opportunities. An essential part of volunteering for any Catholic organization within the Archdiocese is Virtus Volunteer training and certification. This is an annual process for everyone, and we strongly encourage you to start the year by submitting the required forms. Learn more

NEWS & UPDATES

School Mass Now on Thursdays - This year, our Weekly School Masses will be held on Thursdays. We invite you all to join us each week at 8:45am in the Church. The students participate as readers, gift bearers, altar servers, and choir members, and their sweet and genuine enthusiasm and reverence are a welcome reminder of the meaningful impact regular Mass attendance can have on our lives.

Sports Registration - Fall Season Registration for Girls Basketball, Cheer, Football, and Jr. Flag Football have all closed. Soccer registration (Grades K - 8) is still open but will close soon. If your child is interested in playing soccer, please register them promptly. Register for Soccer.

Staff Update - Technology Director Mrs. Kathleen Davies and Maintenance Staff Mr. Kevin Riley have both departed St. Barnabas School. Questions regarding facility usage or technology can be directed to Ms. Sadowski. For the complete list of St. Barnabas School staff, including teachers and classroom aides by grade, please view our Staff Directory.

Thank you for the care and attention you put into helping your children start the year. We hope to see you all at next Thursday's Ice Cream Social and cannot wait to welcome you to Information Sunday. See you soon Buckeyes!!
