Soccer - Spring soccer has come to a close, and we extend our sincere thanks to our soccer community. Thank you to Mike Hohenadel and Kevin O’Kelly for leading the registration, schedules, and logistics. We thank our coaches, athletes, and parents for bringing commitment and enthusiasm to this exciting season. We also thank Kevin and Katie O’Kelly and the entire Pack the Park committee for supporting and honoring our 8th Grade athletes while simultaneously embracing and celebrating all ages of Buckeyes soccer athletes at the recent Pack the Park event at St. Rita. Go Buckeyes!
Spirit Day - What a day! Our students had an incredible day at our annual Spirit Day. This day has many layers and moving parts, and it would not be possible without the months of planning and care of Melissa Kreikemeier and Lindsey Goodman. Thank you for your careful attention. We also extend our thanks to the planning committee and all the day-of parent volunteers. From planning and managing the games, crowd control, and dunk tank - your gift of time made this day so special.
Ridge Run - Memorial Day and the Annual BAPA Ridge Run and Parade is a special day in our Beverly community. Thank you to the team of volunteers who helped Ms. Sadowski with the water station in front of the school. Special shout-out to Run Like a Cheetah, who has served as a valuable provider of After School Enrichment to so many young Buckeyes. Kudos to our 33 students who joined Team Run Like a Cheetah for the run!
Chaperones - We have had a number of field trips in the past two weeks, and we thank our chaperones for giving their time in support of these memorable days - Kids Science Labs for 2nd grade, Fair Oaks Farms for 5th grade, and Lincoln Park Zoo for 3rd grade.
Retreat - Thank you to Mrs. McGowan and our Class of 2022 alumni students who held a beautiful retreat for our Class of 2026 earlier this week. This important day brought our students together for a day of bonding, spirituality, and courage about their future.
Horse Thief Hollow - It's a tradition that each 2nd-grade class celebrates its First Communion with a lunch at Horse Thief Hollow. Due to COVID restrictions, our 8th graders were the only class that did not have the opportunity for lunch with their teachers at Horse Thief. Yesterday, our Class of 2026 joined their 2nd-grade buddies for a long-overdue lunch. We extend a huge thank you to Neil Byers of Horse Thief Hollow for generously opening his restaurant to 100 hungry students! It was a special day. On your next visit to Horse Thief, please be sure to thank Neil for all he does to support our school.
Barraco Family - Over the years, our school community has enjoyed countless meals and exemplary service from the Barraco family through their local restaurants. Staff luncheons and holiday parties, board meetings, Fun Food, Pizza with the Principals, Senior Lunchon, the Progressive, 8th Grade Dinner Dance and Honors Celebration, to name just a few of the special occasions. Nick and Lisa and their Barraco's team approach each event with thoughtfulness and extreme generosity, never batting an eye at a last-minute request. Nick and Lisa consistently respond with generosity and a “don’t worry about it, we've got you.” The definition of sharing time, talent, treasure, thank you to the Barraco family.
Honors Celebration - this week, our Administrative team and teachers came together to host an Honors Celebration for our 8th Grade families. We thank them for their care, attention, and time in planning a special send-off. Our staff gave of their time because they value and love our school community, grounded in our Root Belief, “We belong to each other.” We also thank every parent and 8th grader for coming together for one final night in the gym, to our parent-coaches for sharing your words, and the Chatz family for donating a keepsake gift to each student.
