Pet Blessing This Afternoon

This afternoon is the annual St. Francis of Assisi Pet Blessing. This is a beloved tradition among pet-loving parish families, and we hope you can join us outside the church at 4pm. Learn more.

Big Bucks

Big Bucks Winners!

Once again, we had a successful Big Bucks Raffle, which generated $100,000 for the school! Congrats to the winners, two school families, and one long-time parishioner! The $50,000 Grand Prize was awarded to Theresa Hemmer, $20,000 Second Place to Maureen McMahon, and $10,000 Third Place to Grace Rohan.

We thank every school family for your role in supporting the raffle, and we extended a huge thank you to the team of parent ticket captains. Collectively, the captains sold over 625 tickets. Thank you, Martin & Jessie Carroll, Lynn DeHoyos, Kiley Doherty, Melissa Kreikemeier, Eileen & Joe Stoiber, and Andy Walsh.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conference will be held next week on Wednesday, October 9, from 4pm - 7pm and Thursday, October 10, from 1pm - 6pm. REGISTER HERE

A few scheduling notes:

  • Parents may register for up to two conferences per child.
  • Conferences last 10 minutes. We encourage you to plan a 10-minute gap between meetings to allow time to travel between scheduled meetings.
  • Students in Grades 6 - 8 are encouraged to attend conferences with their parents/guardians.

Early next week, please expect an email from Mrs. Kathleen Davies with your child's iReady Diganotistic 1 test results. These results can be a helpful item to review before your Parent Teacher Conference.

Days Off Reminders

We have an early dismissal and two days off leading into next week. Be sure to make your calendars! The Days Off and Early Dismissal calendar for the year is linked HERE.

Ofrenda Altar

As we celebrate and honor Hispanic Heritage Month, Culture Club is once again creating an Ofrenda in our Main Hall to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. In Hispanic Culture, an ofrenda is an altar built to honor lost loved ones. Photos and offerings are displayed to help us remember, celebrate, and honor their lives. We invite families to add to our altar by sharing a photo or small memorial token of someone special who has passed on. Please send items with your child's name and homeroom to the Main Office.

Sports Registration - Closes Next Week

As shared in last week’s newsletter, registration for the upcoming season of Girls Volleyball (Gr. 4 - 8) and Boys Basketball (Gr. 3 - 8) is now open. The final day to register is next Wednesday, October 9. Please don’t delay; REGISTER HERE

Celebrating our Buckeye Tradition

Next weekend is homecoming!

STUDENT PEP RALLY - THURSDAY OCT 10 - We celebrate our fall sport student-athletes with a pep rally next Thursday at 10:30am. Like most school-day assemblies, this is a student event, but we invite 8th-grade parents to attend as we announce and honor the contributions of our 8th-grade athletes.

FOOTBALL GAMES - SATURDAY OCT 12 - The Buckeyes take on St. Dan’s at Beverly Park. The 4th grade game kicks off at 12pm, JV at 1:30pm, and Varsity at 3pm. We are so proud of this fantastic group of athletes.

The Homecoming Committee is finalizing its plans now, and next week we will share the Saturday morning parade route and volunteer opportunities for help on game day.

Band Info Session On Tuesday

Band Director Phil Enns is hosting a new student info session. Any students, 4th grade and up, who are interested in joining the school band should stop by the Main Hall next Tuesday, October 8, between 6pm - 7:30pm to meet Mr. Enns and learn about the program. Quinlan and Fabish will be on hand to provide instrument rental options. Learn more here or complete the online interest form.

Eat and Earn with Horse Thief

A true gem in our neighborhood, Horse Thief Hollow is giving back. As we lead into our homecoming week, Horse Thief will contribute 10% back to school if you mention the code Buckeyes from Monday, October 7 - Sunday, October 13, at all lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch dine-orders. Learn more!
