Service Day Recap
Last Friday’s Service Day was remarkable and meaningful. Service work on this scale is possible because our entire community embraces it. We encourage you to take a few moments to watch this year’s reflection video (linked below). It perfectly captures the spirit of our Buckeyes and is certain to make you smile.
Our hearts are full as we reflect on the day and the many people who made it possible. This day is a shared effort, and we are grateful for the time, care, and generosity each of you contributed.
To every parent: Thank you for registering your child, supporting our efforts financially, and helping your child arrive ready to serve. Your support helped bring this day to life.
To our students: Thank you for bringing the smiles, energy, compassion, and work ethic. We are so proud of each of you for making a difference.
To our parent chaperones: Thank you for giving your time and guiding our students throughout the day. Service Day simply would not be possible without you.
To our area high schools and local businesses: Thank you for sharing a part of your organization with us. Their support helps us stretch our budget and purchase the supplies we need for our service projects. We are especially grateful to Brother Rice, Marist, Mother McAuley, Mt. Carmel, and St. Rita for providing school buses and drivers to transport some of our older students, and to County Fair and Marathon Sportswear for donating items we integrated into some of our projects.
To our teachers, Augustinians, parish and school staff: Thank you for embracing our commitment to service and guiding the students.
To our office team: Ms. Grace Sadowski, Mrs. Shannon Griffin, Mrs. Tracy Burke, Ms. Amelia McCabe, and Mrs. Sue Connolly - thank you for the months of planning and preparation you devote to Service Day. Your behind-the-scenes work, thoughtful coordination, and attention to detail help create a smooth, joyful experience for everyone.
Thank you for showing our students what it means to serve—and for reminding us how much we can accomplish together.
We look forward to continuing service in smaller ways throughout the year through our work with Special Olympics, Maple Morgan Park Food Pantry, Pat Mac Foundation, St. Baldrick’s, Get Behind the Vest, and Breast Cancer research and awareness.

i-Ready Inform Results
Earlier this week, all parents received their child’s i-Ready Inform results via an email from Ms. Amelia McCabe. i-Ready Inform results can help parents and teachers identify each student's strengths and areas to focus on. A student's i-Ready Inform score and growth throughout the year are important factors for placement in our Math and ELA courses, and the student's 7th and 8th-grade i-Ready results are part of the application process at most Catholic High Schools.
We created a new format for sharing, and your child's results are now linked in a Google folder. This folder will hold your child’s i-Ready reports throughout the year and for the remainder of their time here at St. Barnabas, so families have them all in one place.
If you have questions about your child’s scores, you may first connect with their Math or ELA teacher during the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences or email them to arrange a time to discuss the results. Additional details about overall St. Barnabas i-Ready results can be found on our website.
