Congrats to the Graduates

Tonight, we bless and honor our 8th-grade students at their 7pm Graduation Liturgy. It is a privilege to have played a role in the lives of this special group. Next week, our final week of school, we follow an alternate schedule:

  • Thursday, June 5 - 10:50am Dismissal for PK, Kindergarten dismissal immediately following their 9:30am Graduation Ceremony, 1:30pm Dismissal Grades 1 - 7
  • Friday, June 6 - 10:50am Dismissal: Last Day for Grades 1 - 7

After Care is available Monday - Thursday until 6pm (no Thursday After Care for PK and K)

Hot Lunch service has ended; all students should bring a daily lunch from home this final week.

PowerSchool Access - On Tuesday, PowerSchool will be disabled as we prepare the Trimester 3 Report Cards. 8th-grade students will receive their report cards in the mail, and all other students will receive them on their final day of school.

Tuition Reminder - Please check FACTS Tuition Management to confirm your account is paid in full. If your account is past due, your enrollment spot for next year is not secure. You also no longer have access to PowerSchool, Report Cards, and i-Ready results. For tuition-related questions, please connect with Mrs. Jeanne Reilly at reilly@stbarnabasparish.org.

Church Renovations

This weekend, we will celebrate our final weekend of mass in the church before the restoration work begins. The restoration is expected to take 10 weeks and is scheduled for completion prior to the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Beginning Monday, June 2, the 6:45am morning Mass will be at St. John Fisher Parish. Weekend masses will be held in the school gym.


After the 10am Mass this Sunday, there will be a Eucharistic Procession, transforming the school gym into our parish prayer space. Please join in this prayerful moment of history as we begin the next century of St. Barnabas Parish.


Our final weekly school mass will take place on Friday, June 6, at 8:45am in the gym - please join us!

Celebrating Pope Leo XIV

On Saturday, June 14 the Archdiocese is hosting a "Chicago Celebrates Pope Leo XVI" event at Rate Field. The afternoon includes a gathering, video message, and mass. Ticket sales begins at 10am today (Friday)! Learn more.

Lost and Found

Next week, the Lost and Found table will be outside the school’s Main Entrance. If you are missing something, please search! At the conclusion of the school year, all remaining items will be donated.

Spirit Day Recap

Thank you to Melissa Kreikemeier and Lindsey Goodman for managing Spirit Day for the second year in a row! We are grateful for your positive energy and organization. Thank you to the many parents who came out and volunteered to make the day so special. Set-up, clean-up, getting dunked, and managing the activities - we couldn't do it without you!

Athletic News

FALL SOCCER - Registration for Fall Soccer is now open. Opportunities for play are available for Saturday Soccer (Preschool - Kindergarten) and League Soccer (Grades 1 - 8). Learn more and register!


GIRLS BASKETBALL - Thank you to all the rising 6th - 8th grade athletes who made it to tryouts this week. Team placement will be shared soon. Registration for rising Grades 3 - 5 Girls Basketball closes on Sunday, June 1. Register here!


VOLUNTEER FOR THE ATHLETIC BOARD - There are a number of open positions on the Athletic Board for the upcoming school year. Those interested in volunteering their time are encouraged to submit an application. All applications will be reviewed by the Executive Board. The Executive Board will then vote to choose the candidates who exhibit the most experience and demonstrates organizational skills or expertise in athletics. Learn more and submit an application.

Newly Elected Student Council

This year’s Student Council elections for the upcoming school year took place earlier this week. We were so impressed with the 30 students who served as candidates, and we greatly admire their dedication to making St. Barnabas the best it can be. We also thank Mrs. McGowan and Ms. O’Neill for guiding the election process, our current 8th-grade Student Council members for moderating the speeches, and all of our Grade 4 - 7 students for respectfully and attentively listening to the candidate speeches. We congratulate our newly elected 2025-2026 Student Council:

Ridge Run Volunteers - Thank you to the students and parents who joined Ms. Sadowski at the Ridge Run water station this past Monday. Your enthusiasm, friendly faces, and work to keep the runners hydrated and inspired had a positive impact on our entire neighborhood community.


Hands and Heart Award - Thank you to Fran Hurley for her generosity. This is the third consecutive year that Fran has gifted the Hands and Heart scholarship award to a 7th-grade student. Congrats to this year's recipient, Adam Davis.
