Saints Among Us, This Afternoon
A relic of Saint Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, along with relics of Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi, will be presented at the Church this afternoon as part of a relic tour throughout the Chicago area. Archbishop Emeritus Domenico Sorrentino from Assisi and Sr. Alessandra, Chancellor of Assisi, will accompany the relics.
Our 1st - 8th grade students will gather in the Church at 1:45pm to learn about the relics and share in a prayer service and veneration; parents are welcome to join. Throughout the afternoon and evening, the relics will remain on display in the Church for anyone who wishes to pray and reflect. Learn more

No School Monday
We wish you all a wonderful Labor Day weekend and remind you that there is no school on Monday. We look forward to our students’ return on Tuesday.
| | | |
Upcoming Due Dates
A reminder of some upcoming deadlines:
| | | |
Service Day
On Tuesday, all student and chaperone Service Day registration forms are due. We require a form for every student (PK - 8), but registration works a little differently for younger grades than for older grades.
For Grades PK - 3, the form serves as permission and agreement to participate in service work, and also allows parents to register as a chaperone if they wish to join us.
With site choice for Grades 4 - 8, it can feel more time-sensitive to secure your preferred site, and we appreciate your prompt attention. We have received registration from almost every 4th - 8th grade student.
Complete Service Day Registration
We are also seeking donations! Gently used books (all ages), shoes (all sizes), crayons, and dog care items - treats, food, toys, and leashes. Learn about the contributions.

Safety Reminders
As we settle into the school year, we urge each family to review walking, biking, and driving procedures when traveling to and from school. A few key points we want to highlight:
Crosswalks Required: Please only use the designated crosswalks on Longwood Drive. Children (and parents/caregivers) should never cross Longwood in the middle of the street. Biking: Bikes must be walked on campus; no riding on the sidewalks surrounding school or when crossing the streets with a crossing guard. Also, please ensure your child has a bike lock and knows how to use it. East Side of Longwood: Cars are forbidden from parking or dropping off on the east side (school side) of Longwood. Parking Lot Guidelines: Enter the lot from Walden, and please be patient and drive very slowly. If parking, use the middle two lanes for entry. Use the last lane, closest to the playground, for exit. The first lane, closest to the school, is primarily for drop-off. Enter from Walden, and pull all the way up to the front of the school for quick child drop-off. Crossing Guard Help: We occasionally need a substitute crossing guard. If you have a little extra time at drop-off or pick-up and would be willing to help, please email Ms. Grace Sadowski.

Remembering 9-11 - Thursday, September 10, 8:45am at Church We invite all families to join us for our 9-11 Memorial Mass led by the 8th grade students. Each year, as we reflect and remember the tragic events of September 11th, it has become tradition for our students to share the story of Welles Crowther, the man in the red bandana. This serves as a beautiful reminder of the brave and heroic acts made on September 11, and that each of us can serve as the hands of Christ.
Smart Families - Wednesday, September 16 and Thursday, September 17 This year we have partnered with Smart Families to build healthier, more intentional relationships with technology. We have planned a series of opportunities throughout the school year for parents, educators, and our students to learn about technology and the growing brain. The first in-person session is geared toward parents, and we hope you can each find time to attend a session. You'll hear from Dr. Crystal Collier about how technology use is affecting your child's development. Please join us either Wednesday evening, September 16 at 6:30pm or Thursday, September 17 at 10am, following our weekly school Mass. Learn more.
