Traveling to School
WALKING & BIKING - With the warmer weather, we love seeing our Buckeyes more active and riding or walking to school. We ask you to please review and help enforce these vital safety measures for those children riding bikes or scooters to school:
- Bike helmets are recommended and may be stored in students’ lockers.
- Bikes must be walked in the parking lot, on sidewalks surrounding school property, and when crossing streets with designated crossing guards.
VEHICLE TRAFFIC - We are seeing an uptick of parents/caregivers and students not adhering to the safety standards; this is a concerning and important matter:
- Cars are not permitted to stop for a quick drop-off or park anywhere along the east side (school side) of Longwood Drive from 100th - 102nd St. Please do not stop in front of the Early Childhood Building (former Convent) or in front of the school or parking lot to allow students to exit.
- PLEASE - no crossing Longwood, 101st Street, or 101st Place in the middle of the street! We frequently see parents/caregivers dropping off on the west side (church side) of Longwood and allowing their children to run across the middle of the street, particularly right before the tardy bell. We also frequently see students crossing in the middle of the street to exit/enter cars parked along 101st Street or 101st Place. Please only cross streets at the designated stop signs. For everyone's safety, ensure your family is following this important guideline.
Our complete arrival and dismissal procedures are outlined on our website.
