CATHOLIC SCHOOL WEEK

The week ahead....

Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, and the week ahead is bustling with activity! CSW is a nationwide celebration of the commitment we have each made to Catholic education. We thank our parents and guardians for their support in celebrating this time-honored tradition. Thank you for choosing St. Barnabas School for your child, we are grateful to each of you.

SUNDAY - Mass & Open House

Invite friends and neighbors - We ask each of you to think of your friends and neighbors and encourage any prospective families to register for a school tour. Open House details!

10am Mass - This Sunday, we will celebrate as a parish with a 10am Mass and rejoice in our belief in the power of Catholic education. We will hear from an 8th-grade student speaker and have our students serving as readers, gift bearers, and singers. This mass offers the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your faith.

11:30am School Tours - After mass, the school will be open for tours from 11:30 - 1pm. Visit your child's classroom and mingle in the gym. At the same time our current families are visiting the building, we will be offering tours to prospective families. Be sure to extend a gracious welcome to these future Buckeyes if you see them in the building!

Sweets Table - A huge thanks to the families that have already offered to bring desserts for our Sunday Open House. Small homemade or store-bought treats to share - cookies, cupcakes, donuts, or brownies are welcome. Items may be dropped off in the Gym lobby between 8am - 10am on Sunday morning. Sign up here to help out.

MONDAY - Jesse White Tumblers

Dress Down - Students are welcome to wear any school-appropriate clothing on this Students' Choice Dress Down Day.

Activity - In the afternoon, we will enjoy a student assembly with the Jesse White Tumblers.

TUESDAY - Grandparents Mass

Dress Code - Students should wear their regular school uniform; there is no dress down on Tuesday.

Activity - For the weekly 8:45am school mass, we invite grandparents to join the school community at Church. Following the mass, grandparent guests are invited to a coffee reception in the school's Main Hall. In the afternoon, the students will enjoy a round of Bingo.

Note: Students will have an opportunity for a hello, but will not be seated with their grandparents during Mass. For the post-mass reception, students will be in class, but we would love to welcome grandparents for a glimpse into the school.

WEDNESDAY - 1:30pm Dismissal

Dress Down - Wear red, white, and blue to honor our nation.

Activity - If you have a family member who has served or is currently serving in the military, please send in a photo along with this description sheet so we may honor them on our Hall of Heroes wall. In the afternoon, we will host an 8th-grade vs. staff volleyball game

THURSDAY - Wheel of Wisdom

Administrative Office Team Update

Mrs. Shannon Griffin, our Communications Coordinator, will be transitioning from a full-time to a part-time role. In this position, Shannon will continue to oversee our website and design work, support communication across our school community, and write our weekly newsletter. We are so thankful for her continued creativity and care in keeping our community informed and connected.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Tracy Burke to our Administrative office team as Shannon Griffin transitions to part time. Tracy is a longtime parishioner and the proud parent of four St. Barnabas alumni. As a familiar and trusted member of our community, she brings a wealth of knowledge, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. We are so grateful to have her join our team, and you can expect to see Tracy in the Main Office a couple of days each week. Please join us in welcoming Tracy back to St. Barnabas!

Upcoming Lenten Season

This Lent, we invite all families to take part in a special Lenten Mission series. This new, family-friendly format will be led by Ms. Keara Ette, Senior Director of Community Programs at Catholic Charities and former longtime Director of Ministry at Old St. Pat’s. Keara will join us at the 10am Mass for three consecutive Sundays, February 22, March 1, and March 8, to reflect on how we can deepen our commitment to the Gospel through prayer and action. Immediately following each Mass, Keara will lead a 30‑minute conversation for people who wish to reflect more deeply. Childcare will be available during the post-mass conversation.
