Boys B-Ball Pack the House

On Saturday night join us for the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Pack the House! Guaranteed to be an exciting evening to honor all FOUR 8th-grade boys' teams. Games begin at 5:40pm.

Don't miss out on your chance for the split-the-pot raffle. You do not need to be in attendance to win! The winning ticket will be drawn at the final game of the night. Purchase raffle tickets!

Like all our Pack the House events, we remind you, all children watching the games must have a designated adult chaperone.

PTH

Hercules Musical Showcase!

Join us on February 13 at 5pm in the Gym for a mini-musical rendition of the myth of Hercules! Hercules and the Muses is a student performed show that features some of our very talented Grade 4 and 5 students. Students will perform songs from Disney's Hercules and tell of the harrowing labors that history's favorite hero faced to become an Olympian. No entrance fee, but donations at the door are welcome. All children watching the performance must be seated with a designated adult chaperone.

Valentine's Day

On Friday, February 14, we celebrate Valentine's Day and we are resharing a few reminders for the day: All students are welcome to dress down in Valentine’s colors (red, white, pink).

Bringing a Valentine's card or small favor for classmates is optional. If bringing Valentines to share, please ensure every student in the homeroom receives one. If needed, you may confirm the number of students in the class with the class liaison or homeroom teacher. Absolutely NO edible treats or candy are permitted as favors. Thank you for your cooperation.

Some homerooms, especially in younger grades, may host classroom parties during the last period of the day (2pm - 2:45pm). Please keep an eye out for party news from the class liaisons or homeroom teachers. A reminder that all parents volunteering at school and interacting with students must be current in their Virtus Volunteer requirements. For some people, these requirements expire mid-school year; please login and confirm you are compliant.

SUPPORTING OTHERS

Living Our Root Beliefs

We Belong to Each Other & We Are the Hands of Christ

We are continually seeking ways to live our Root Beliefs. One of the ways we unite in our beliefs is by supporting different activities and charitable events throughout the school year. In February and March, we celebrate a few remarkable events and organizations - Black History Month, Parker's Party Polar Plunge, and Pat Mac Day. These missions connect us as a community and honor those who have impacted us in a long-lasting and powerful way.

Please know that while financially supporting these causes is most appreciated, helping to spread awareness is also impactful. Give if you can, but also give the gift of your time by helping to spread the word.

We've Got Spirit

The three missions we are supporting this February and March all have Spirit Wear opportunities + $3 Charitable Dress Down Days. Each organization has their own unique ordering deadline. Don't miss the due date if you're interested in ordering!

PARKER'S PARTY SPIRIT WEAR - order by Tuesday, February 11

PAT MAC'S PACK SPIRIT WEAR - order by Thursday, February 13

BLACK HISTORY MONTH - order by Sunday, February 16

BHM

Black History Month Continues

Thank you to all who joined us at our weekly school mass on Tuesday as we prayerfully kicked-off to Black History Month. Our Culture Club continues to plan activities and an assembly to close out the month. Save the Date for $3 Dress Down on February 28! Get all the BHM Month details here.

Parker's Party Polar Plunge

We support Class of 2024 alum Parker Baudo with the annual Parker’s Party Polar Plunge! Parker (and his family) have given our community the most incredible gift - a true understanding of the power of inclusive education. We honor that lasting gift by supporting team Parker's Party at the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 2.

There are numerous ways to support Parker's Party - spirit wear sales, $3 dress down on March 3, and taking the icy plunge into Lake Michigan. This is a truly memorable day. Take a few moments to learn about Parker and get involved with this mission. Parker's Party - Learn More!

Pat Mac Day!

Each year, at St. Barnabas School, we celebrate the life and legacy of Patrick McNamara. Pat Mac Day has the dual mission of supporting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and Pat Mac’s Pack. These charitable organizations serve to conquer children’s cancer, and the funds we raise on March 7 go to support both of these organizations. There are lots of layers to this exciting and heart-warming day. Head shaving and hair cutting to benefit St. Baldrick's Foundation and spirt wear, dress down and temporary tattoos to support Pat Mac's Pack. We have all the details and links you need centralized in one place so you can begin your plans. Those students (and PARENTS!) that are interested in head shaving and hair cutting are encouraged to register asap! Learn about Pat's legacy and how to support.

PARISH NEWS

Southside Parish Renewal Mass

On Saturday, February 15, all four parishes that represent our Southside Parish Renewal community (St. Barnabas, St. Cajetan, Christ the King, and St. John Fisher) are invited to come together to celebrate the 4pm mass at St. Cajetan. After mass, stay for fellowship and light refreshments. This will be the only Saturday mass celebrated at the SPR churches. Learn more.
