Valentine's Day
On Friday, February 14, we celebrate Valentine's Day and we are resharing a few reminders for the day:
All students are welcome to dress down in Valentine’s colors (red, white, pink).
Bringing a Valentine's card or small favor for classmates is optional. If bringing Valentines to share, please ensure every student in the homeroom receives one. If needed, you may confirm the number of students in the class with the class liaison or homeroom teacher. Absolutely NO edible treats or candy are permitted as favors. Thank you for your cooperation.
Some homerooms, especially in younger grades, may host classroom parties during the last period of the day (2pm - 2:45pm). Please keep an eye out for party news from the class liaisons or homeroom teachers. A reminder that all parents volunteering at school and interacting with students must be current in their Virtus Volunteer requirements. For some people, these requirements expire mid-school year; please login and confirm you are compliant.

Living Our Root Beliefs
We Belong to Each Other & We Are the Hands of Christ
We are continually seeking ways to live our Root Beliefs. One of the ways we unite in our beliefs is by supporting different activities and charitable events throughout the school year. In February and March, we celebrate a few remarkable events and organizations - Black History Month, Parker's Party Polar Plunge, and Pat Mac Day. These missions connect us as a community and honor those who have impacted us in a long-lasting and powerful way.
Please know that while financially supporting these causes is most appreciated, helping to spread awareness is also impactful. Give if you can, but also give the gift of your time by helping to spread the word.

Parker's Party Polar Plunge
We support Class of 2024 alum Parker Baudo with the annual Parker’s Party Polar Plunge! Parker (and his family) have given our community the most incredible gift - a true understanding of the power of inclusive education. We honor that lasting gift by supporting team Parker's Party at the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 2.
There are numerous ways to support Parker's Party - spirit wear sales, $3 dress down on March 3, and taking the icy plunge into Lake Michigan. This is a truly memorable day. Take a few moments to learn about Parker and get involved with this mission. Parker's Party - Learn More!

Pat Mac Day!
Each year, at St. Barnabas School, we celebrate the life and legacy of Patrick McNamara. Pat Mac Day has the dual mission of supporting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and Pat Mac’s Pack. These charitable organizations serve to conquer children’s cancer, and the funds we raise on March 7 go to support both of these organizations. There are lots of layers to this exciting and heart-warming day. Head shaving and hair cutting to benefit St. Baldrick's Foundation and spirt wear, dress down and temporary tattoos to support Pat Mac's Pack. We have all the details and links you need centralized in one place so you can begin your plans. Those students (and PARENTS!) that are interested in head shaving and hair cutting are encouraged to register asap! Learn about Pat's legacy and how to support.
